Clayton Hotel Manchester Airport, The Ringway Suite

We booked a junior suite. The room was very nice, spacious and well equipped. The bathroom in comparison was small. The temperature of the shower was very hard to master. It does say please leave running to get the right temperature but after leaving the water running for 15 minutes, our shower was hot then cold then tepid. Not very comfortable to have a shower in those conditions. Good for one night but I wouldn't stay more than that. It is in a very convenient location to be so close to the airport. The front desk staff were efficient but not very friendly. The positive point was the bus driver who took us to the airport at 10am. He was very nice and polite. He helped with our luggage loading and unloading at the airport. He also explained where we would need to go to check in for our flight. All i am sorry for was not to ask his name. He went above and beyond.

We booked a king-size bed, but the bed we received looked and felt more like a double. When we brought this up with the front desk, we were told that we would have needed to book a super king instead. It would be helpful if the website made the difference between the two room types clearer, as it was quite confusing. The staff at both the front desk and the restaurant came across as a bit unfriendly, which was disappointing. At the restaurant, we ordered through the scan app because we didn’t realize a server would come to take orders. When the server arrived and we explained, he seemed frustrated and walked away. Unfortunately, the food we received was also cold. In our room, the bathroom sink wasn’t draining properly, and we couldn’t access the gym during our stay. The highlight of our experience was the airport shuttle. The driver was friendly, cheerful, and very helpful — a great way to end the stay. Overall, the hotel has potential, but clearer communication, warmer service, and some maintenance improvements would make a big difference.
