About Venue

Set in the heart of Cheshire, Mere Court Hotel was originally built as a wedding present for William and Amy Dunkerley in 1903. It has now been lovingly restored into a 4 star country house hotel, award winning events venue with an AA rosette restaurant.

Within 7 acres of landscaped gardens and grounds with a private lake, the hotel offers ambience and rural tranquility despite being only 8 minutes for Manchester Airport and with easy reach of the motorway networks to Manchester, Liverpool and Chester.

The original house was individually designed and furnished, featuring luxury bedrooms including 2 four poster suites and wonderful views across the grounds. We have 35 bedrooms in total, 10 of these which are feature rooms and another 20 executive lakeside rooms. Our 35th room is a two-bedroom lodge which is located next to our conference centre. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen/dining and living area.

The original coach house has been transformed in to a dedicated Conference centre with light, air-conditioned rooms, a welcoming coffee lounge, free wi-fi and plenty of outside space for team-building. We also have meeting rooms available in the main house.
Our modern and versatile facilities can accommodate upto 150 delegates and the rooms can be laid out in a variety of layouts to meet individual requirements.

I work as a wedding videographer for Strawberry Wedding Video and have had the pleasure of filming at Mere Court multiple times. The staff are wonderful and the venue is beautiful. Having The Lodge on site to get ready for your wedding is so helpful and it's a lovely space to inhabit. The outdoor spaces are stunning and not overlooked. Having hotel accommodation for your guests is great for logistics and keeping everyone nearby for as long as possible. I would highly recommend this venue.

This venue was a hidden gem! It is a gorgeous hotel with history, the perfect location for our wedding. With only 7 months to plan our wedding Lyndsey and Georgia helped us bring our wedding vision to life. They gave us confidence with planning our wedding, fantastic at answering my list of questions and offered flexible options to ensure that our wedding day is special to us. On the actual wedding day, the Mere Court Team did a fantastic job making sure everything went smoothly across the day. Our wedding guests complimented on how pretty the venue is and the food they provided us on the day (we decided to have Hog roast instead of a traditional sit down wedding breakfast and greek gyros in the evening). Our guests have also said they liked how the rooms in the hotel were traditional and elegant. If you are looking to have your ceremony and reception in one place, I would recommend Mere Court Hotel. Had one night booked here last month as a treat for my daughter. Lovely location and the hotel looks beautiful from the outside. However, our room was really not up to scratch. Covered in cobwebs, belongings of the previous guests and hardly any of the lights worked. I did try calling down to reception to inform them however our room phone didn’t work and we were rushing to get ready to go out. Upon checkout I let the receptionist know about the issues however she didn’t seem bothered and just told me to email them. I have emailed twice and called multiple times as I am unhappy with the standard of the room for the price I paid. Our stay was mid August and I am yet to receive a response as promised. Really disappointed with the customer service as well as the room. Will not be staying again and I will not be recommending.
