Stayed here on a mini break with a friend. Very friendly staff and location walking distance to Chester and next door to the Racecourse if you fancy a day at the races. You can help yourself to tea and coffee and fruit juice from the breakfast area whenever you liked

Good welcome, good price, generally decent free breakfast (apart from the coffee). Some rooms on a busy road and no air con so could be problematic when hot, but the windows are well glazed. Free tea and coffee throughout the day, the catch being that the machine coffee is dreadful. I had to do a Google search to find that such a thing exists, and it does. The So Pure Onyx Instant machine is disguised to look like a real coffee machine but dispenses instant muck. Why? Does it cost so much more for beans? Do they think no one will notice?

Stayed for business, good sized room (bed was a tad hard and warn in for my liking, but fine for two nights). Breakfast was okay but limited options (fine for a normal breakfast with limited time). Overall nice modern feel to the whole hotel. Perfect location for Chester Racecourse and a short walk into the city centre - where there's a huge choice for food and drink options to suit everyone's needs.

Rooms were cleans and well equipped, and it was clear that staff took pains to make sure that the place was well-kept and that standards were high. It seemed to have been a while since the hotel was updated, however. Breakfast was typical of large chain hotels. The major downside was that we were there over a race weekend, while not being there for the races and the hotel was rather crowded and staff advised us to be away from the hotel from before noon until after the racing was over - which was fine. Convenient for a walk into central Chester.
