We had a family party here and the facilities and hospitality were very good. We booked an accessibility room which was large, clean and well positioned. On arrival we had to pay for the room and a £25 deposit which I did not like. Apart from that it was fine.

Overall, lovely staff, super friendly and helpful, however felt like the rooms could do with some work, especially the out building. Generally clean and tidy + functional, but did feel they could have done with some work. Windows looking out onto car park, no blinds or privacy, apart from closing the curtains. Restaurant staff were lovely, but had a very disappointing meal, food was bland and lacked flavour or quality. Spent £90 odd but it was very poor in terms of quality. Desert was good, as was breakfast. But the stater and mains were not great at all. Pool was really good! Finally I’m a diamond select best Western customer. Meaning the highest tear of status. Arrived and had zero acknowledgement of this fact. Was not offered a welcome drink or points. And the room was very much not upgraded despite there being availability.

We had a very dated and basic room. Mould around the bath and not enough attention paid to the cleaning despite it being quiet dated room! Window frame and sill quite dirty, carpets and floor quite dirty as well. Could do with a regular deep cleaning of carpets! I personally wouldn’t stay again.

I booked a deluxe room at Cricklade House Hotel & Spa (Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western) for a special family birthday weekend, spending £450 for two nights. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing and not what I expected from a four-star property. The hotel itself feels old and in need of investment. The room had no air conditioning and no slippers, which I would consider basic amenities in a deluxe room. On a hot day, the room temperature exceeded 35°C, and when I raised this with staff, I was told “that’s what we have.” After pressing further, I was reluctantly offered a fan that never arrived. The overall cleaning and facilities leave much to be desired, and the standards do not match the advertised quality. What made matters worse was the rude and dismissive attitude of the manager on duty told me directly, “I don’t care” when I asked to escalate my concerns. This level of unprofessionalism is shocking and not what I expect from any hotel, let alone one marketed as four-star. This stay left my family and me feeling very let down, especially as it was meant to be a celebratory weekend. Unless management makes significant improvements in both customer service and hotel standards, I cannot recommend this hotel.
