The most wonderful staff. We had a 1 night stay while attending a nearby festival, but wish we'd stayed longer. The most wonderful staff, particularly Mandy on Reception who was super friendly and helpful. 11 out of 10! In addition, the bed had a very comfortable mattress, the rooms had lovely views, the location was great just off the A1. We had a drink on the terrace in the sunshine and enjoyed everything this hotel had to offer. Recommend!

Hall Garth Hotel is a well situated hotel within a lovely setting. We were put in the old mill house, which needed some small attention to the bathroom but other than that it had some fantastic features (See Photos). A travel cot was provided free of charge and put up ready for our arrival. The bar had a good selection of drinks and the food from the restaurant was delicious. This can be ordered within the bar area and there is a children's menu. I pre-paid for the cooked breakfast online and I'm glad I did because of the sausage and black pudding, I'd be surprised if they're not made locally. It is available for £12.50 (£7.50 for children) should you wish to opt in during your stay. The continental breakfast is also included, which has the usual cereals, croissants, toast, etc. Lastly the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The reception, bar and restaurant staff at breakfast were all faultless. Thank you for a great stay and see you again soon!

Came for a 3 night stay this weekend to celebrate my daughter’s Hen party. We were greeted by the lovely Mandy on reception who was so friendly and made us feel so welcome. We were helped to our room and our bags by a lovely gentleman. The rooms were on the small side and in need of a decoration especially the bathroom. The bar staff were pleasant but not over friendly. We were greeted by Jennifer the following morning for breakfast and lunch and she couldn’t have been more helpful to us. We even got our own room to have lunch. Food was amazing. We were booked into the spa for treatments and use of the spa facilities. The steam room was turned off and took ages to heat up. The cold water plunge was empty and broken. We were also disappointed that there was no pool at the site however we did have the use of 3 jacuzzi spas one being outside and it was raining. But that didn’t stop us. As a group of 7 we went into the treatment in twos. One young girl was very unprofessional and we decided to report her however the other ladies were amazing and the massage was out of this world. The room we had booked for our party was ideal. The staff the following morning for breakfast were all very helpful and greeted us with lots of questions about our party night. They made us feel so at home and welcome and wished my daughter well on her forthcoming wedding. I would go back for a night away with the hubby next time x

Amazing location set in beautiful grounds. Not what I was expecting at all. Arrived 2 hrs early and were lucky enough to be able to check in. Stayed in room 5 and it was so big! Lovely seating area. Very quiet. Downside is that the hotel is a little dated. Could do with painting but it it an old building. Breakfast was very limited due to kitchen problems.

Very run down and bad value for money. Would NOT recommend. We came to Hall Garth for a celebration weekend but we were greatly disappointed with the quality of the rooms and the limited facilities. The rooms were run down and dirty (nothing like the modern rooms advertised) Our bath was disintegrating with the side of the bath coming apart leaving sharp edges at knee height. There was a burn mark in the centre of the bath and when you ran the sink the water came bubbling up through the bath drain. The room was very hot and the window didn’t stay open (it had to be chocked open with a small block of wood). The room itself was very very small with the bed being very short (definitely a small double not standard) The spa was a massive disappointment. There is no longer a pool on site so facilities are very limited. Half of the facilities were out of order or not turned on when we arrived (we still had to pay full price). The cold plunge pool was broken and when we arrived the sauna wasn’t even turned on (this took over an hour to heat up). So the only facilities we could use was 1 outdoor hot tub and 2 indoor hot tubs (NOT WORTH THE FULL COST) Multiple people in our party had a terrible treatment experience with a staff member being unprofessional. The treatment was supposed to be 25 mins but they spent more time talking than conducting the treatment. The only good factor was the food. The quality and taste of the food was fabulous. Jennifer (our server) was so friendly and did everything she could to make our time great. We had to pay to use a free lounge space for a small gathering and were charged £75 (originally quoted £150). We had to chase them multiple times to clear leftover breakfast dishes from the room and to clean prior to our hire. Overall I would not go back as the quality of the facilities are not worth the cost paid
