We had to park at Q-Park Omni that was 20 minutes walk away for a deep discounted rate with the hotel discount code. Make sure you get that set up prior to arrival. A cab to the parking area was under 20 pounds. The receptionists were friendly and got us a cab for the parking lot. We got in the wrong cab for the airport. Make sure you know where the driver is going before getting in. We were able to switch to the correct cab within the block. The room was spacious. The shower floor was super slippery so we put a towel down. The location was at the end of Victoria street centrally located to many attractions. The noise level wasn’t bad at all. The adjoining bar served complimentary breakfast menu along with a buffet spread.

We had a perfect stay at this hotel. At the bottom of Victoria Street, near the castle and close to lots of local pubs and eateries. Hoi, at the front desk was charming and even handled a change to our reservation with ease. Room was large and comfortable. The bath was spotless and rainforest shower was a luxury. If you're from the US, expect some stairs.

Grassmarket Hotel is ideally situated in old town. The staff were all exceptionally pleasant and the food in the adjoining establishment was superb! The recommendations were spot on and greatly appreciated. Thank you Hoi!! Overall, you couldn't ask for a more perfect place to pick in Edinburgh if you want to truly enjoy Old Town!

Location was fantastic, right on Victoria Street. The person who checked us in was nice enough to help get the luggage up to the room because I had to go park the car. My only complaint is that the beds were hard as rocks. Oh.. And the shower had two temps - scalding hot or melt your skin off.

It was hot. When you walk into the room and see two fans, you know you're in trouble. We had to ask for a third, one for each of us. Even when the nighttime temperature went below 60°F, it didn't make much difference. The windows were sealed, opening only a crack, and the fans were underpowered. The walk-up was a pain, and the hallways seemed to meander throughout the building. It often felt like you had to navigate a maze just to get back to your room. The hotel is very worn. You can tell it cycles through a lot a guests. Despite being right in the Grassmarket area, noise wasn't as bad as we expected. Our arrival on a Sunday was very noisy, but weekdays were much quieter, and most of the bars closed around midnight. The location is great, and the staff were friendly. They also had a coffee machine in the lobby, although it was a pain to get to from our room. Overall, the location wasn't enough to make up for the heat. We'd be willing to stay a little farther away next time for a more comfortable room.
