Apex Waterloo Place Hotel, Waterloo Suite

I stayed at this hotel between the 3rd-5th January to celebrate my husband's birthday. The hotel staff were very welcoming and accommodating for our celebratory weekend and they offered us a complimentary drinks voucher to be used at the in-house bar. We were very kindly upgraded to a bigger room when I requested a room with a bath. The room was absolutely stunning and equipped with a balloon and box of chocolates for my husband's birthday. The location was amazing and one of the reasons why I booked the hotel initially. It is directly across the road from the starting point of the hop on hop off buses, with plenty of bars and restaurants available nearby. We didn't eat in the hotel so I can't comment on that. Everything was well within walking distance so this was another huge booking factor. The staff we encountered were very approachable and polite. Thanks again for a lovely stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering it

Had an absolute fantastic 2 night stay here. Its a five minute walk from the station and just across the road from one of the hop on hop off bus tours which we used all weekend. The rooms where very spacious, the bed was very comfy and the bathroom was excellent. We paid for the breakfast both mornings and this was well worth the money as you can have a big selection of hot and cold foods. I would highly recommend this hotel and definitely stay here if we visit Edinburgh again.

The rooms are great and comfortable. However, the breakfast was quite poor. I spoke to reception to pre-book for the next morning, and they mentioned that you could either use the buffet or order from the menu, which would be included. I arrived during the later part of breakfast and attempted to order, but was told that I couldn't, and should just use the buffet. However, there was very little left in the buffets. What was there did not taste good and was quite disappointing. I think there may have been some miscommunication regarding breakfast? Otherwise, my stay was great.
