About Venue
Charwood is a locals favourite within the South of Edinburgh.. We have two fantastic function suites which are ideal for many different events. Only Pentland suite can hold a party for 120 people comfortably and has its own bar, entrance and dancefloor. The Balfour Suite is perfect for a more formal dinner or a small family get together, which can seat up to 28. We boost a Josper Grill oven and a wood fired pizza oven. We have a car park of 30+ spaces which is rare luxury in Edinburgh.

Good selection of food on the menu, from traditional bar type food to burgers and pizza. Good portion sizes and option with haddock to get large or small. Didn’t pay much attention to vegetarian menu or dietary requirements but definitely saw gluten free options etc. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food and cleared their plates with exception of one and not because food was bad even the small haddock was big! Service was good and staff attentive. Nice restaurant with lovely ambience and good outdoor space. Would recommend.

Food was dissappointing. The Penne Arabiatta was watery and soggy. Could not recommend, however the salmon was much better. Had a lovely waiter, and the atmosphere and decor were quite nice. Would say pricing is quite high for the quality. People who were there was mainly white older couples.
