Flight Club Edinburgh, Private Space - "Full Venue Hire"

Had a great time playing darts. A good range of games to play which was fun. Staff were friendly and food was decent too. Good place for a social or party event

we arrived without a booking today, the first woman we encountered showed us to a dingy, sticky table in the corner right next to the toilets and said a server would be with us shortly. The next woman that arrived (i believe her name was Isa) was immediately unwelcoming and seemed disinterested and like we were pulling her away from her conversations. She asked us our order and asked if there were any allergies, to which i said there was. She pointed me to a tiny QR code on a menu and told me “look over that and i’ll come back”, when she did, she didn’t even have the courtesy to acknowledge me or my partner, and whilst facing away from us and continuing to have her conversation with her co worker, she dumped some side plates down on the table with the cheque underneath them. BEFORE we even had drinks or food arrive at the table. I have frankly NEVER seen this happen. It made us feel completely unwelcome and like they wanted us out as soon as possible. No one came to service check us at all during the meal, instead we watched all the staff congregate around the middle table and the bar area. We ordered another round of drinks and the absolute atrocity that arrived at the table honestly made me gag. The drink i ordered was “nunya business” and came “rimmed” in salt but the amount of salt on the glass could’ve given someone a sodium poisoning. I wiped it all off and the drink itself was barely tolerable. We were also left without cutlery, condiments or sauces and were never asked if we needed anything else. The pizza we received was tasteless and seemed shop bought and the “loaded” fries had maybe three small dollops of sour and not a lot of anything else on them. When the final server arrived she eventually asked if the meal was okay to which we just nodded as we didn’t want to cause a scene in a quiet-ish restaurant. She took the cheque that had been sat there since before we had even had the meal (and which now was correct as we’d ordered more drinks since it) and didn’t even realise that we had had more drinks. When my partner asked for the bill to be updated she seemed to think that the cheque arriving before the drinks or food was standard procedure. She did update the total for the bill, we paid but left extremely unsatisfied and like we were an inconvenience to the staff. The service was atrocious, the food was cold and bland at best and the atmosphere created in there was a huge let down. After being recommended to go for the longest time, we were sorely disappointed.
