We had a wonderful pre Christmas meal here. They had both a delicious looking Christmas menu and their usual al a carte menu! The service was excellent and a special shout out to how well our lovely waitress dealt with my nut allergy. This can often be an issue for me when eating out so it’s always a treat when it’s dealt with so efficiently. Look forward to another meal here soon.

Howies is always top of my list for Edinburgh food recommendations. The haggis starter (veggie available) is unbeatable, the atmosphere is great, service is attentive and warm (shout out to Dylan who served us this time round!) and every mouthful is always delicious. Make a reservation, it's always busy here. The lunch deal is excellent value for money at 19.95 for two courses.

Great food, great staff and a lovely venue. Excellent value, especially if you get the the early bird sort of dinner menu. Best haggis I’ve had, peppery and hearty and the venison stew was warm and comforting. Staff were all so lovely. Restaurant had a great atmosphere and it was easy to talk even when very busy.
