The location is central and a close walk to almost everything in town. The rooms were great. But the real reason to stay here was the service. Every single member of the staff was attentive, kind, and ready to accommodate any request you might have. From the doormen to the managers, the service was absolutely impeccable and sets the gold standard for hospitality.

Did a lot of research before booking to find a good hotel near the things we wanted to see and do. The hotel is great, and the staff phenomenal. Our room was elegant, clean and comfortable. It had all the amenities you would expect. The service was impeccable, we had a very minor issue with the bathroom fan, we mentioned it to the front desk and it was fixed immediately. All the main places to see were within walking distances and it was very close to the hop on hope off busses which is convenient. I highly recommend choosing this hotel for you stay in Edinburgh.

This is a beautiful historic hotel in the heart of Edinburgh. The location is perfect for exploring New Town and Old Town, and only a block from the train station. The staff was lovely helpful and particularly a shout out to Adam behind the bar. He was witty, attentive and a constant source of interesting stories about the city. Because of him we ended most evenings with a nightcap in the bar. The included breakfast was a easy way to start the day before heading out to explore. We hope to return at a time when the Fringe is done and life is a little quieter but the energy was great.

The George was a wonderful hotel. In my opinion the complimentary breakfast buffet was top tier, with many American and Scottish food staples. The front desk and wait staff were incredibly helpful and timely, except for when we ordered things to our room, like silverware, that took a little longer than expected. Otherwise everything was above and beyond. There's a cafe and restaurant attached, both are quaint and delicious. The rooms are lovely, lots of space and storage, but I do wish there were mini fridges included.
