One of the best zoos I’ve ever been to. It’s well kept. It seems like there’s new things being added or restored, which is important for comfort and safety. Most importantly the animals seem to be kept in right conditions, with plenty of space and the fauna mimicking their natural habitat. It was a great workout coming there with a pram as the entire place is on a hill— it’s not for faint hearted for sure. I recommend wearing extra comfortable shoes with a good grip on them.

Beautiful Zoo! Plenty of animals to see although be prepared for hills! We have visited many zoos in the UK and this is second on the list (Chester is the best). Parking could be an issue, although we arrived early and only about 20 cars in the car park (staff I assume) We ate in the Penguin cafe which serves lovely food. We had an issue with one of our wraps. It was labeled incorrectly. Didn’t cause us an issue as the filling was another that we like. Might be worth double checking if you have any allergies though. I have uploaded some photos I took and would recommend you to visit.

Huge areas for the animals and many vantage points for visitors to watch them. I would say the best time is to visit around 4-6pm as the most activity starts from the animals at that time but all day is fine just there will be a lot of carnivores sleeping and most of the herbivores resting in the shade. WHEN you travel with car and use google maps make sure you don’t take the hospital parking lot route but go further 2 junctions and after the holiday inn you’ll see a steep corner leading into the parking lot of the Zoo. The animals are well cared for and beautiful. Easy to walk around the park and enjoy the time spent there. It took us 4h with a 3 year old on foot, so you might get it done in 3h. Food and toilet are readily available, clean and nice Zoo for sure.

The zoo was a wonderful experience! I didn’t expect to spend so many hours there, exploring every corner and admiring each animal. They were all incredibly cute – if I could, I would have taken them all home. The place is very clean, well-maintained, with friendly and attentive staff. There are plenty of playgrounds and activities for children, as well as food and sweets stands for visitors. I was especially delighted by the delicious ice cream I tried. The zoo also offers many relaxing spots, with benches at every step – perfect for taking a break and enjoying the atmosphere. At the exit, there was a great souvenir shop, well stocked with something to suit every taste.

First time here and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Parking is capped at £4 and the ticket is required to pay the £4. There were lots of lovely animals😍. Its a shame the lion and tiger were having a nap. At least the lion woke up, eat and and drank water and went back to sleep 😴. The giraffes were amazing to watch roaming around, such majestic creatures. Lots of uphill walking can be tiring so allow for that. Ice cream was nice 😋 as they only sold Scottish made ice cream. The weather was unpredictable as it was warm, started raining and then very sunny and the heat was nice. It's best to pre book tickets online as savings can be achieved. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and it is clear to see the animals are looked after we'll. I would wholeheartedly recommend this zoo to others.
