About Venue
The Queen is in residence at the Palace of Holyroodhouse during Holyrood week, which usually takes place from the end of June to the beginning of July. Then the Scottish variant of the Royal Standard of the United Kingdom is flown, and the Royal Company of Archers forms Her Majesty's ceremonial bodyguard.
The Queen received His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI at Holyroodhouse during The Pope’s official visit to the UK in September 2010. The gift presented by His Holiness to Her Majesty, a facsimile of the Lorsch Gospels, is on display at the Palace.

For £26, I spent about 2.5 hours inside and around the palace. You can't take pics inside, but it's as lavish as place as I've ever seen. A bit stomach churning seeing the wealth displayed, but that's monarchy to ya. The grounds are beautiful and the Abby out back is beautiful.

It was a beautiful to visit, super happy that I went. They give a free headset to listen to a guided tour without any extra cost, so interesting to hear about the different areas of the palace. The only thing that’s quite sad is that we can’t take pictures inside. But other than that highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful, and well worth a visit. Going early in the day could mean smaller crowds. The included audioguide is excellent and guests are given access to lots of rooms. No photos allowed inside. Toilets available.

We’ve not been inside for it’s not offered any tours those days due to a royal visit, but still it’s been very beautiful to look at and get a good view of the architecture and surroundings. Beautiful place, probably even more so when going on an actual tour!

It is really beautiful inside. They check your bags when you go through. The Abbey is beautiful to walk around. The gardens are very well kept. It’s worth a visit but it’s expensive, as a visitor I found it very expensive for the entry. For such a small place it’s too expensive.
