About Venue
Over four centuries ago, the foundations of The Three Sisters were laid. What began as a Tailor’s Guild evolved into a lively Playhouse in 1733, thanks to the vision of the three McKinnon sisters – Maggie, Cath, and Kitty.
Known for their spirited performances and bold ambition, the sisters drew crowds from across the city, turning their stage into the beating heart of local culture. Their legacy of creativity and community still shapes everything we do today.
The Three Sisters Venue continues to thrive as a hub for entertainment and connection. From corporate gatherings and comedy nights to live music and dancing, our adaptable spaces bring events to life with the same vibrant energy that has inspired audiences for centuries.

If you like Jack Daniels and a good laugh, this is your spot! Daniel Lee behind the bar makes the perfect drink every time—and somehow manages to make you smile more than the whiskey. Great vibes, great cocktails, and just the right amount of cheeky charm! "Warning: serves cocktails and smiles in dangerously equal measure and the banter is just the right side of flirty 😎

Nice bar, good priced beer, huge outdoor area with big screens for sports games. At 3pm on a Thursday it was mostly lots of students in there studying.

The Three Sisters is a fantastic venue! Everytime I’m in Edinburgh I come here for their festival shows. Unfortunately I made the mistake this year of eating from the street food truck parked in the outside area. Disgusting Royal burger for £12.50. I asked for mayo - sorry, we do t have any. Had to go back and ask for a fork for the dirty chips. Then had to go back and ask for a serviette. The two young people running this truck couldn’t care less. I took one bite and returned to tell him the burger was disgusting and inedible (burnt, charcoaled, rubbery…I’m guessing reheated). All he and the Asian cook did was shrug. They watched me bin it but did t care that I’d paid good money for food that was way below standard. A chicken burger shouldn’t be difficult to master!! Such a shame when places like this don’t care about robbing the tourists.

We stopped in on our way back from the Royal Mile. The atmosphere was fun and upbeat. We both ordered nachos which were cold and soggy when they made it to our table (I would not recommend them). Our drinks were tasty.

Very nice people specially the security guard. They are very reasonable and friendly. Not like in rude guard from Ireland pubs. The ambiance is not bad and DJ are very good. Specially on nights. I think it is running until 3 am
