About Venue

Situated opposite Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens, Òran Mór, Gaelic for 'great melody of life' or 'big song' is a stunning converted church that has a number of spaces available to hire for events from 15 to 550.

Òran Mór regularly plays host to a varying programme of events, including; weddings, product launches, banquets, awards dinners, conferences, gigs and theatre, firmly placing it on the map as one of Glasgow’s leading venues.

The Auditorium - Holds up to 500
This versatile space is ideal for a wide range of events, including banqueting-style gatherings, corporate events, conferences, drinks receptions and private celebrations. The auditorium's flexible layout can accommodate different seating arrangements and is equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, ensuring a seamless experience for both organizers and guests. Whether hosting an elegant formal dinner or a large-scale celebration, the auditorium at Òran Mór provides a unique and memorable setting.

Fonn Mór - Holds up to 100
Fonn Mór, is an elegant and contemporary space perfect for hosting networking events, birthdays and launch parties. The room boasts a sophisticated design with modern furnishings and stylish decor, providing a welcoming and professional atmosphere. Fonn Mór offers a versatile layout that can be tailored to various configurations, promoting easy mingling and conversation. With its prime location, chic ambiance, and exceptional facilities, Fonn Mór is the perfect venue for fostering connections, celebrating milestones and launching new ventures.

Dan Mór - Holds up to 45
The Private Dining Room, aptly named Dan Mór, at Oran Mor is a beautifully appointed room with views over the Kibble Palace in the Botanic Gardens. Perfect for business meetings, afternoon teas, celebratory dinners including graduation and anniversaries, and intimate receptions.

The Beattie and MacLennan Room - Holds up to 40
The Beattie and MacLennan Room is adjacent to the Whisky Bar, and offers a comfortable and relaxed surrounding to enjoy lunch or dinner. Our newly renovated and named Private Dining Room, The Beattie and MacLennan is the perfect location for your special event. Named after Colin Beattie, the founder of Oran Mor and David MacLennan the founder of Play Pie and a Pint. Situated just to the side of our main bar, behind some private doors you’ll find the perfect spot for Dinners, drinks and special occasions.






The jewel in the crown of Òran Mór is the breath-taking Auditorium, which is an impressive architectural setting for a range of events, from conferences and workshops to gala dinners and ceilidhs.

Beneath the celestial ceiling mural by renowned Scottish artist Alasdair Gray (one of Scotland’s largest pieces of public art), guests can enjoy fine Scottish food and impeccable service. The Auditorium is a breathtaking architectural setting for a range of events, from workshops and formal banquets to receptions for 400 guests standing and up to 300 seated depending on desired layout.
