Dr. Foster is a gastro pub in the Kimberley Warehouse on the historic Gloucester Docks, opened in 2024 by restaurant group A Rule of Tum after a long period of closure, and one of the most characterful private hire venues in Gloucestershire.

The building dates from 1846 and has been restored with care. Cast iron columns, original flagstone and timber floors, exposed brick walls, wood beam ceilings, and string lights in the glass-covered courtyard give it a genuine sense of the dockside history around it. The main bar extends to a quayside conservatory that feels like outdoor dining while staying sheltered from the elements, and a waterfront terrace with tables and chairs alongside the historic docks adds a proper al fresco dimension in warmer months.

Upstairs, three distinct private hire spaces can be used individually or combined, catering for groups from 30 to 300. The kitchen works with organisers to design bespoke menus, with cold and hot buffets, brunch, lunch, and dinner options all available. Dogs are welcome downstairs in the bar, courtyard, conservatory, and quayside, making it a genuinely welcoming venue for groups of all kinds.
