Hatton Court Hotel, The Cotswold Room

Service was excellent, really happy staff & lots of smiles on greeting & restaurant. Room’s are clean & adequate but the bathroom is in real need of updating, as is the noisy shower pumps that can be heard through out the hotel (We thought someone was drilling) 😂 rooms could be hot in the summer as no air con, but a fan is provided. Queen bed was comfortable for a nice nights sleep & the views are great around the hotel. A small walk to the restaurant. Overall we enjoyed our stay as part of a dinner included in a secret escapes package. We would come again for the outdoor bar & drinks only. Prices vs competition, lots to improve on.

From the outside, it is pure enchantment: a fairytale house resting above the valley, wrapped in views that seem almost painted. Step inside, and the story takes a subtler turn. Not every detail sings, yet there is a charm that lingers in the quiet corners, a sense that something is being whispered rather than declared. The beauty outside frames an interior that asks for patience — and perhaps imagination. As Hans Christian Andersen said, “Life itself is the most wonderful fairytale.” At Hatton Court, the fairytale is there — though its meaning reveals itself slowly, in fragments, between the lines.
