What an amazing experience! I emailed to ask if I could take some Prom pics of my son at the gorgeous hotel. We were warmly welcomed and not charged. The grounds are stunning! My son and his date were so happy. Thank you guys again for being so wonderful!!!

This is a lovely old building with interesting history , with nice outdoor space and gardens next to the church and canal. Our room was ok ish, but the bathroom extractor fan didn't work , the sink plug did not drain as the mechanism was broken and the mattress was lumpy. The restaurant service staff were very friendly and tried to do a good job but this morning, the kitchen had no eggs for breakfast. ( I know ! ) The waitress had taken the early guests orders at the 7am breakfast service start and delivered them to the kitchen and it was only after about 20 mins later that the chef announced there were no eggs and the waitress then had to try and make ammends with the guests including us.The kitchen team were useless in this situation, surely they must have realised there were no eggs BEFORE service began ( the night before perhaps? ) and got some eggs in ? I just don't understand how that could happen in a restaurant in a nice hotel. I felt sorry for the waitresses having to take the flak due to the chefs incompetence.

Our afternoon tea experience on 5th September was somewhat disappointing. Having discussed our allergies we were not supplied with any of the sandwiches we requested. We waited some time for the first pot of tea but two more arrived with the sandwiches but those extra pots went cold very quickly. Not one member of staff came to check if everything was ok. We were expecting a better experience from a well established hotel.

Management has done a very poor job training staff. There were numerous gaffs and blunders. Rooms are very nice. Food is good. Bills get jumbled check them closely.
