Fantastic first vist. Lovely girl on the bar, although on her own serving both bar patrons and the restaurant, she was fantastic! Well done.. Wait staff in the restaurant were attentive and very polite..: Excellent first impression… unless you work in hospitality, you have no idea! Well done ladies … Bravo xx

I stayed the night at the Maynard with my boyfriend for his birthday and would highly recommend. They went out of their way to make sure he had a great day. Rooms were spotless and bed was comfy. The food in the restaurant was very good with live music in the beer garden when we were eating our roast and the full English breakfast was exceptional. Staff were friendly and you can do many walks from the doorstep.

Stayed for a couple of days in June and loved it. Very friendly staff, great food and a perfect location for driving around from to explore the peak district. Note for people with babies: there is no elevator so you’ll have to leave your pram/buggy in your car unless you want to drag it up to your room.

We went for dinner here as a group. The location is lovely although the outdoor seating floods with mosquitoes around 8:00pm. The starters and desserts were delicious. The mains were not well made - this was the opinion of our group with all the dishes. What was really disappointing was the service - they didn’t bother to take our order until final call and then got the wrong dishes out. Throughout the dinner the service was persistently bad. I wouldn’t return here.
