About Venue

The Vale Resort set amidst over 650 acres of beautiful Welsh countryside and is home to a luxuriously appointed 143 bedroom, four star hotel once part of the estate of Hensol Castle– a 17th century stately home.
Ideally located just minutes from junction 34 of the M4, the Vale Resort combines convenience and accessibility with the unsurpassed beauty of the tranquil Vale of Glamorgan countryside in which it resides. Indeed, upon entering our gates you and your guests will become aware that you have arrived somewhere quite special and quite unique.
After all, the Resort combines exquisite landscaped gardens, sweeping staircases and classic terraces for an idyllic year round ceremony venue, guaranteed to deliver a warm welcome and a stunningly photogenic setting for your special day.
For everything from the ceremony, to the reception and the evening function, even the pre-ceremony celebrations, why not let our wedding co-ordinator take the strain so that you can enjoy the most memorable event of your life.

Although worlds away from the city bustle, business delegates feature prominently on the hotel’s agenda, with superb facilities and packages to suit a client’s every need. This offering has now been vastly improved with the opening of one of the largest conference centres in South Wales. Now able to accommodate 700 delegates for a conference and 420 for a banquet, the centre also boasts an impressive number of break-out rooms, a brasserie style restaurant and bar. This, in addition to existing facilities positions the Vale Resort as a leading UK conference destination venue.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Lovely spacious clean rooms. A very enjoyable health suite. But the food really topped it off for me. The chicken was delicious and would eat again in a heartbeat! Lovely service from the staff in the restaurant who were kind enough to make up a special occasion plate for us.

Loved this place. Staff were amazing. The rooms very clean and modern. Whilst there I used the Gum and pool area. And this was also amazing. The gym was better than the one I use and home. Looking forward to next time.

First time staying in Vale Resort. The room provided was spacious, but a bit outdated with some old furniture and marks on the walls and carpet. The leisure facilities were really nice, with the use of gym, pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna included in our stay. The service was really nice too. Breakfast was disappointing with hot food lacking taste, cold and dry. The location is beautiful with the short walk to the castle and lake. Overall happy with our stay

Stayed here on a Thursday night, the food was amazing fair play and the service was good. With the room very underwhelming the Curtins was grubby and the door to outside didn’t seem secure. There wasn’t any cold water brushing my teeth with boiling water wasn’t very nice. The hair dryer didn’t work unless it was in certain position and lastly the aircon didn’t work at all turned it all the way up no heat and when I spoke to someone they said it was too high so don’t put it 28 put it on 25 which I did and still didn’t work so I won’t be staying there ever again food was nice but too far to go just for food. Very disappointed.

Booked for a business convention back in October time 2025 Some colleagues arrived the previous night so were staying for 2 nights so already had rooms allocated to them On arrival, we were told that some of the rooms were unavailable due to unexpected maintainance work that needed attending to and our accommodation was now located in the sister hotel Hensol Castle which was a 6 minute drive away.. The receptionist explained they have 2 shuttle buses which transport guests back n forth 24/7 no waiting needed. We had no choice other than to agree as (according to them), the maintainance work needed attention. The rooms in Hensol werent ready but the business meeting was due ro start shortly so we stayed in the bar area. Once the meeting was done several hours later, we took the shuttle bus to Hensol Castle. A different receptionist drove and when we mentioned we were moved due to maintainance, she was unaware and asked if we'd like her to check again. It was too late at this point as we'd stayed in the bar with our business colleagues and friends after the meeting and as we'd already pulled up outside HC we said not to bother due to only having a limited time before we had to meet back up for the evening. The room was lovely, but freezing so on leaving and having to wait for the shuttle bus again (as there was NOT one located outside) i asked the receptionist to turn the heating on in my room so it was warm wen I got back to which they agreed. We had to wait for the shuttle bus (again) because there was only one operating (and the reception staff were driving it) On telling the driver again, after being asked why we "chose" hensol, they (again) were unaware of any maintainance being carried out. Had a meal with friends (overrated and expensive but edible) Then waited AGAIN for the shuttle bus to take me back. In the morning we went for breakfast at 8am only to find nothing laid out and was not yet open for another 30 mins. Once we'd located the receptionist, and was told we couldnt eat yet.. we said we would get the bus back to the vale to eat breakfast as we did not have time to wait. He asked if we'd booked breakfast there, He told us it was very busy up there and that we'd be lucky to get a table.. We said we were told that we could eat in either hotel. He asked on us leaving if we'd enjoyed our stay, and I told him no, its been a shambles. The driver AGAIN knew nothing of any maintainance work being carried out... (This was the 4th time, 4 different reception staff If there was maintainance work being carried out then ALL staff (especially reception) would have been aware! We did get a table to eat breakfast (which was lovely) But it quickly filled up with people who'd been staying for a Harley Davison biker convention.. After chatting to one, It became fiercely clear that myself (along a 2 or 3 others from our group) had been basically shipped off to Hensol to accommodate this much bigger party of guests. So not only did the receptionist (on our arrival) lie to us about having 2 shuttle buses available at all times.. Shed also lied about maintenance work. There WAS NO MAINTENANCE work being carried out on the rooms because they were all full. All comes down to money as that convention would have been a big pay day for the Vale and they obviously did not want to turn it down for the sake of being 3 or 4 rooms short Absolutely shameful treatment .. And Blatantly obvious lies!
