Beautiful grounds and building. Super friendly relaxed but competent staff, good rooms and really nice well equipped spa facilities. The restaurant is great. Good breakfast options and a well constructed evening menu. Fast and friendly service. The only slight downside is in the older rooms there is no Aircon. If you need a cold room over summer it's definitely worth asking for a room with AC.

I had an incredible day here, one of the best spas I’ve ever been to. Highly recommend it! We arrived, checked in, and were directed to the library for a light breakfast. We were then greeted by a lovely lady who explained what was available to us, including a bike ride, which was an unexpected bonus. So we hired bikes at no extra cost and cycled around the countryside for an hour. When we got back, we settled into our robes and found a spot in the tranquil gardens to relax and read until lunch. The food was incredible, with so much choice. It was buffet-style and included in the price, while wine was extra. After lunch, we managed to drag ourselves poolside, dozed for a while, and then went for a swim. Suddenly it was 5 p.m., so we showered and headed home, more relaxed than I’ve been in ages!

Champneys Henlow is a nice, quiet, and peaceful place with friendly and professional staff. The facilities are good, and the room was comfortable, though a fridge would have been very helpful. Breakfast and lunch buffets were poor in options, but dinner from the menu was really nice. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but for the price, I expected a bit more

I have had 6 two night stays, the most recent free as I take advantage of the return voucher offer. Very good value for 2 nights full board with access to facilities. The lovely house is set in well kept grounds that are good for walking. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, right at the end of my stay there was an unpleasant incident with the house-keeping manager. I had booked 3 activities in the morning and it would make life easier to have my room for an extra hour. I went down to reception to ask if that would be possible and was told I could, but must vacate by 12. Great! Went to pick up my stuff at 11:50 and there was loud knocking at the door. House-keeping manager cross that I had not left at 11. I went to reception to hand in key card, she turned up still cross and shouted 'Is this your first time?' I said 'No. Are you telling me off?' Two other staff at desk, one was the person who told me I could have the room, which she confirmed. There was no apology for the house-keeping manager's rudeness. Such a shame because it blighted what had been a relaxing and enjoyable 2 days. There's a problem with communication, but also with the appropriate attitude to customers. A simple apology from any of the 3 staff would have made a big difference. I'm not sure if I'll go back.

A great location for this Champneys in Henlow. Review being 4 for various reason as it could have been on top if: - Rooms A comfortable enough bed and amenities. But it is aged now. Rug on the room is faded, dressing table had a broken mirror. French window paint flaking, cob webs above paintings…. - Restaurant Evening menu and service average. Not great or appetising looking food. Pastas and apple brioche lacked care or attention. Breakfast buffet as well as lunch buffet both great variety and offer. Made it up for the diner experience. - Spa and facilities Good spa and massages and relaxing treatments. Swimming pool, jacuzzi and showers of good level. Again aging building has loads of areas lacking attention and maintenance. Shame. Loads of other good activities, facilities like gym, classes, manicure, hair dresser etc. to wrap this up, a good stay enjoyed the location greatly, but the building in general could do with a fresher look.
