One of Essex’s premier wedding venues, That Amazing Place is the perfect setting for your special day.
That Amazing Place is an exclusive use venue, meaning that no other events will take place here on your wedding day. Due to the exclusivity, the 15th-century grade II listed house is all yours for 24 hours, allowing you the freedom and flexibility to have your day, your way. In addition, you and your guests will have exclusive use of the 12 elegant bedrooms sleeping up to 25 guests), including a delicious breakfast the following mroning. To ensure you’re feeling and looking your best, we have a fantastic beauty salon, available for treatments and pampering with our in-house therapist.
The downstairs function space features a large lobby, 2 reception rooms, a licensed bar and a spacious outdoor patio which overlooks the gorgeous grounds with a perfect lake view.
Licensed for civil ceremonies, our largest room, The Hall, can seat up to 100 people for a ceremony, while the Lakeview Lounge can seat up to 70. You can also say your vows alfresco underneath our outdoor gazebo against the charming backdrop of the lake.
With large, light rooms and stylish, contemporary interiors the house offers the perfect setting for an intimate wedding breakfast with up to 80 seated guests or for larger parties, our dining marquee (available from 2018) can seat up to 150 guests.

We can’t thank Angie enough for helping make our wedding the most unforgettable day of our lives. From start to finish, everything was flawless. The venue was absolutely stunning, and staying in the cottage the night before with my mum and bridesmaids was such a calming and special experience—it truly helped me feel relaxed and ready for the big day. We chose the twilight package, which was perfect for us. Instead of a formal sit-down meal, we opted for the BBQ, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The grounds were breathtaking, and we were incredibly lucky to have our ceremony outdoors. There were so many beautiful spots for photos, which made capturing memories effortless. Our guests who stayed overnight all commented on how clean and comfortable their rooms were, and it was such a joy to come together for breakfast the next morning. Angie was phenomenal—she ensured the day ran smoothly and handled every detail with care and professionalism. She truly is a wonder woman. Best day of our lives at That Amazing Place! Absolutely stunning venue totally brought to life by the fabulous organised kind funny people working there. Extra huge thanks to Angie who has been there through every single emailed question and had advice, wisdom, ideas and skill to bring our wedding vision to reality. Angie and Louise was amazing (no pun intended) from the start! The On line portal was a big help for information and keeping things in one place. They answered all questions I had big or small very quickly. On the day was was great communication and adapting! My husband and I had no worries about anything. I am so glad that he and I could put our trust in them and not have it broken. Plus the rooms was clean and well presented. Everyone loved their room and slept well. Everyone who works there are friendly and welcoming. Thank you so much!!!
