I only accessed the Spa area for some beauty treatments but I have to say this was one of the best Soa services I have ever experienced. Pauline is a truly excellent Massage Therapist, who showed nothing but professionalism with compassion and kindness. I would definitely return here for more treatments. Would recommend 🙌🏻

A beautifull and charming hotel set in the grounds of an excellent golf course. The hotel is an old building with lots of original features, tastefully decorated and dressed to feel modern. The hotel itself has a bar that serves food, there is a wonderful restaurant that serves breakfast and evening meals both of which are excellent, well presented and so tasty. The breakfast is full English plus other options and full continental available, there are so many options. Evening meals are delicious, lots of options and specials the chef has available, service is great and all the staff are so friendly and helpful. The spa is connected to the hotel, it has a large gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi which are all free to guests. It has a beautiful spa with a large list of treatments available and the costs are very reasonable. The golf course is a beautiful 18 hole immaculately maintained course, prices for a round are very reasonable as is the hire of a buggy if required, the golf club is open to guests but you must have your own clubs, shoes etc and proper dress code is required here. If you enjoy golf, you just want to be pampered or you enjoy relaxing but miss the gym this hotel is perfect. Room prices do vary but all the rooms are different so you can choose one that is right for you. A beautiful place to stay or if you live close enough be a member of.

This is a lovely hotel, with great food, and a beautiful breakfast. The spa is very clean. With a nice big pool. The temperature is perfect. Parts are in need of a face-lift, but it's more than acceptable. Lovely decor in restaurants and bar. The staff are all excellent. Lovely cocktail too. A special mention to the music throughout. Especially Tom's set list..

Shaw Hill is in a great location. The golf course looked lovely, although didn't get out. The staff are fabulous and the food was excellent. The restaurant and down stairs is pretty nice and in a good condition. That's the good part. Our room, room 1, although being a great size with fabulous views over the course and further afield, was really dated. The suspended ceiling looked like the polystyrene tiles your nan had 40 years ago. The windows (original) didn't fully close and let in a fair amount of breeze, the curtains didn't close with the closing pulley system. The bathroom, again a great size 4 piece suit, was better decoration wise, but we had no hot water and next to no water pressure. They did reboot the system whilst we had 'free cocktails' and it did work again. Although filling the corner bath took a while due to lack of pressure. Just to cap the whole visit off there was a big thunder storm and the ceiling leaked and collapsed into the room. Within a few minuets the carpet was totally flooded. Along with the room below, that had a bride & groom staying in!! They did find us another bedroom but that must have been an emergency room. Small room, small bed but hot water at a great pressure!!! It is a shame as the staff are great. The location is brilliant. It just needs a lot of investment put into the building and bedrooms. If they did that it would be brilliant. A visit we wont forget. Great food with a flooded room.

I stayed here last night for my daughter wedding reception. First impression staff very polite. and all areas very clean. But when you look closer all the areas including rooms are very tired and need upgrading or refurbishment. In our room (16) there were water stained ceiling tiles .bed felt very worn and uncomfortable mattress, needs replacing . Uneven floor. But main thing thing the sash windows had been painted over leaving one totally unable to open it. No sashs either the other over painted and could hardly open it at all about a foot in total. fire emergency exit risk this need to be attended to immediately or a visit by Lancashire Fire Service is needed to point out all the faults. It was hard to lock/unlock our room door. There was a flood in honeymoon suite during the night so they had to move to their friends room and their friends had to get a taxi home. Overall 1 star. Needs improvement and guests safety must be made made a priority
