About Venue
Milwards Wedding Venue is a Grade 11 listed house, which you have exclusive use, set in the countryside surrounded by the Sussex Downs and local villages of East Sussex with accomodation available locally.
Surrounded by 150 acres of organic grass meadows and a stunning 5 acre lake, the country surroundings provide the perfect setting for your big day . To make the most of these views, you can hold a drinks and canapé reception on the terrace overlooking the stunning grounds.
The Entrance Hall has a historic charm boasting original features such as the wood beams, vaulted ceiling, stained glass window and sweeping staircase.
The Coach House is licensed to hold civil ceremonies for up to 60 seated guests .The Ceremony room with its barn features of vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, combined with the light allowed from the large French doors, creates a stunning ceremony space.
The large gardens wrap around the terrace with well established lawns gently sloping to the lake. There is a large circular koi pond with fountain for welcome drinks to be served.There is a beautiful rose bed and rose arbour, herbaceous borders and a multitude of trees and ornamental trees in clusters positioned around the park like lawns.
The lakeside marquee is fully lined and has a solid carpeted floor with seating for up to 150 of your friends and family, its own licensed bar and up-to-date sound and lighting equipment with dance floor for a fabulous reception.Live bands are welcome. All tables and chairs are included in the venue hire as are the glasses for each place setting.l

We recently got married at The Milwards Estate and I can’t thank Clare, Maria & Chris enough for making the whole process so stress free and smooth. Right from the start of the booking process, any queries we had were answered quickly and the approach is so personal. Clare, Maria & the team are so experienced, supportive & truly calming people to be around on such an important day. The venue and grounds are absolutely beautiful - I would recommend to anyone. We cannot thank Clare, Chris, Maria and their team enough for making our wedding so special. Clare went above and beyond to make sure that we didn’t have to think or worry about anything! Chris was super helpful and provided amazing DJ and music choices, our guest are still raving about the music, bubbles and strobe lights on the dance floor! Milwards looked after us from the very beginning all the way through, supporting us and accommodating everything we needed and wished for on our wedding day, including having our dog at our wedding! Clare also sorted getting a space in the kennels on site for her so we knew she was safe and well cared for ! The bar was amazingly stocked and had something everyone liked ! The icing on the cake was Chris taking the time out of his day to call over the ducks so we could feed them and have the most beautiful photos with them! Overall this venue is absolutely amazing, we were looking for a relaxed, animal friendly and outdoorsy place to get married and that’s exactly what Milwards is! We cannot recommend them enough, once again amazing place and amazing staff!!

My husband and I got married in August this year on a day on a named stormed and Milwards went above and beyond to make it the most perfect day. Although we couldn’t get married by the lake, the inside where we got married was also stunning too, creating an intimate ceremony. From the beginning Maria and Claire, made the experience of getting married easy, from the initial booking to the day we got married. The other staff at Milwards were also amazing from sorting every request to helping set up the wedding day - nothing felt too much for them To sort out. We had so many compliments on how stunning the venue is and just how relaxed the whole day was. We will always be thankful to the team at Milwards for creating the most perfect day.
