Cancellation policy
2.1 Where an Event Contract includes an element of room hire, and/or RAI has contracted to supply an outsourced service such as a band or DJ (this list being by no means exhaustive and shall extend to cover any item, service or material that RAI is thereby contracted to pay for), these elements of the Event Contract are subject to a 100% cancellation charge if the Client cancels the event or any part of the event. 2.2 Where cancellation is deemed to have been effected by the Client under clauses 1.5, 1.6, 3.1, 4.1, 4.2, 8 and/or 9, the Client shall in addition to the deposit(s) already paid, pay RAI a cancellation fee based on the total price payable for the event as it stands at the time of cancellation under the Event Contract plus any additional items requested since the original Event Contract (making the “Total Charge”). The following list presents the sliding scale of cancellation fees payable, based on a percentage of the Total Charge and the date of cancellation in relation to the contracted date of the Event: 2.2.1 100% less than 21 working days prior to the event. 2.2.2 90% between 21 and 42 working days (inclusive) prior to the event. 2.2.3 75% between 43 and 63 working days (inclusive) prior to the event. 2.2.4 60% between 64 and 126 working days (inclusive) prior to the event 2.2.5 30% in excess of 127 working days prior to the event. 2.3 Cancellation of a confirmed event must be made either by letter, fax or email to RAI. Date and time of receipt will determine the cancellation charge. 2.4 In addition to the total charge RAI also reserves the right at all times to claim any and all losses (to include loss of revenue from catering, bar spends and parking) caused by any cancellation and this should be noted particularly in regard to those events which have been designated as 'exhibitions' or ‘banquets’ where the revenue loss to RAI may greatly exceed the price for the event as it stands per the Event Contract at the date of cancellation. 2.5 If cancellation charges arise by way of a cancellation, RAI will at all times seek to mitigate its losses. Any amount mitigated will be refunded to the Client, but only after the Client has settled all cancellation sums in full in cleared funds. 3. CANCELLATION BY RAI 3.1 RAI reserves the right to cancel the booking if any of the following situations arise (this list is by no means exhaustive): 3.1.1 the Client becomes insolvent or subject to bankruptcy proceedings, receivership or administrative receivership. 3.1.2 the Client is in arrears or threatens to be in arrears with any payment at any time prior to the event. 3.1.3 the booking would damage the Museum’s, New Dock’s or RAI’s reputation, such decision to be at the sole discretion of RAI. 3.1.4 the Client is in breach of Health & Safety legislation in any aspect of its event. 3.1.5 the Client distributes any unacceptable or unapproved promotional materials, in whatever medium they are presented. In which case, the Client will be deemed to have cancelled the booking. 3.2 Notwithstanding the situation where RAI cancels the contract and it is deemed to have been cancelled by the Client under sections 1.5, 1.6, 3.1, 4.1, 4.2, 8 or 9, RAI also reserves the right to cancel an event for any reason on giving 7 days written notice to the Client in which case all monies paid to RAI by the Client will be refunded forthwith and RAI shall have no further obligation to the Client whatsoever and vice versa.

April 2025Absolutely fabulous museum. They got the place packed with a very extensive collections and the layout is incredible. While the place is rather huge it is very easy to navigate through all the exhibits and they do also packed a whole lot of interesting information on all the pieces they have. Would recommend for a day out to anyone who is in the area. There is no entrance fee as well so I’m even more amazed.

April 2025This place is huge and awesome! We spent over 3h in here (as it closed 5 PM.. otherwise good luck kicking us out). LOTS to see & explore. Very well displayed and categorized. They also offer various events e.g. dressing a knight (unfortunately we missed the last slot, make sure you get there early if you are interested). Additionally, you can explore various weapons used in movies such as Alien, James Bond and many more. Our highlight was crossbow shooting (you can pay for this on the day, luckily we didn’t had to queue for it, it can be quite busy though). Staff have been excellent & entry is free - donate if you can or opt for the crossbow challenge - it’s absolutely worth it! definitely back soon! OH BONUS! you get a pretty cool view of Leeds

April 2025An unforgettable day out at the Royal Armouries Museum! I took my four children for a weekend visit and honestly, it was the best day ever. Entry for all of us was just £25 – such great value for everything that was included. The live jousting show was the highlight – the kids were completely glued to the action. From the knights in full armour to the horses and the medieval-style commentary, it felt like we’d stepped back in time. The arena setup, costumes, and energy were incredible. Outside the show, there were lots of interactive stalls and activities that kept everyone entertained, from trying on armour to medieval crafts. The staff were all friendly and really helped bring the experience to life. It was well-organised, family-friendly, and just a brilliant way to spend the day together. I’d 100% recommend buying tickets in advance if you’re planning to visit on a weekend or during events – it’s worth it! We’ll definitely be going back.

April 2025Fantastic place to go with your family. There is so much to see over 5 floors. We were there for over 4 hours and could have stayed longer if we had the time. If you love history then this is definitely the place for you . We will be going back to finish the areas that we did not have time for ( crossbow challenge ). All the staff were very friendly and helpful and you should definitely visit the gift shop on the way out. It's very clean and tidy and free but they do ask for donations which helps the upkeep. 10/10

June 2025Always a great place to visit and it's free, although do donate to keep the place going. Over 5 floors of wonderful artifacts and very interesting history, a true walkthrough of thousands of items. The shows and talks are fantastic and well rehearsed and informative. One floor seemed quite empty and looked to be more of a conference floor. There are lifts to all floors, toilets on all levels. Parking (paid) near by at the docks, and well signposted. Cafe seems to have closed on upper floor, but there is a cafe restaurant on ground floor, as well as a large gift shop. Great for all ages , and if you spend your time reading lots about everything on all floors, and see the multiple shows and talks, you could easily spend a full day here. Situated next to the docks which is also a great place to see, and walk. There are boats on the dock, restaurants and bars , even a canal taxi. Check it out, there aren't many places you can go for free, parking has fees but not extortionate. Take your camera, there's so much to see. Would be a 5 star if the cafe and empty floor opened back up with even more artifacts Don't forget to have a go at archery (fee) and take the gold lift to the top floor gallery. Thank you
