The City Rooms is the perfect venue for one of the most important days of your life – your wedding. The venue, set in the heart of Leicester, is a historic Georgian building from 1792. The impressive, elegant spaces are ideal for your ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception. The venue is also ideal for Asian weddings and engagements.
Whether you are planning an intimate event or a more extravagant celebration, the City Rooms can offer the perfect space for you. With three rooms licensed to hold civil ceremonies and a grand Ballroom for up to 200 guests, you can spend your whole day in the fantastic venue.
We work with some of the most inspiring, creative and versatile caterers in the midlands to offer you an unforgettable dining experience for your grand occasion.
We are a family-run business and independent venue, passionate about giving you the day of your dreams. From your initial enquiry through to the big day itself, you will enjoy the dedicated services of a wedding co-ordinator. If required, we can also help to design bespoke menus and help organise a variety of suppliers. Our team will be on hand to offer as much support and assistance as you need to help create your perfect wedding celebration.

Came here for a friend's civil ceremony and the venue is really beautiful. Really well maintained and the staff are also great. It's a shame that there isn't parking onsite but it wasn't the end of the world. Would really enjoy coming here again for another event.

We had the most wonderful experience at the city rooms ! The setting itself is absolutely beautiful, but what truly made our day so special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, supportive, and genuinely happy for us. We had the pleasure of dealing directly with Ash, Izzy, and Aisha – all of whom were absolutely lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. A special thank you goes to Izzy, who went above and beyond to make everything possible and seamless. She put so much effort into making sure everything was perfect, and we are so grateful. The service was top-notch from start to finish, the food was delicious, and the whole atmosphere was just amazing. We honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone – not just for the beautiful setting, but especially for the outstanding staff and the care they put into making the day unforgettable. Thank you again for everything!

Absolutely stunning venue, great staff that made the day go really smoothly! Shout out to the coordinator Paris who was running around to make sure everything gets done perfectly. I highly recommend this venue for events. My only personal minus point is that the bar is downstairs but I don't believe it is possible to be on the same level. Also, to access rooms, you must be well and able as there are some stairs

I attended a wedding reception with my partner here. Beautiful rooms, excellent venue. Staff and bartenders were fantastic. Only downside was with it being a summer wedding, no air conditioning to cool the place down was a major factor. Still had a fantastic time but was sweating from start to finish. Looked like I had ran through a shower, was completely drenched. Would recommend maybe at a cooler time of the year.
