About Venue
Aloft Liverpool is a unique choice of wedding venue. It started life in 1903 as the Royal Insurance Building, an iconic creation in the heart of the city centre.
The Liverpool wedding venue has been awarded Grade II listed status, and extensive work has been carried out on the building to ensure the interiors match the beautiful exterior. The walls are covered in Brazilian walnut panelling and the authentic high ceilings add to the grand feeling. The windows are original stained glass, making them the perfect backdrop for wedding pictures.
Aloft Liverpool boasts an impressive six-story atrium and a mezzanine bar which offers amazing views across the whole venue. There are also an additional two bars and 116 bedrooms so everyone can stay in style!
After being on the English Heritage risk register for 25 years, the venue is now back to its best and is ready to host your special day. We had an amazing 2-night stay! From the moment we arrived, the customer service was absolutely brilliant. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. A special mention to Pippa, who went above and beyond to make our stay as good as possible – she was so kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about our experience. The room was clean, cosy, and had everything we needed. Great location too. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back. From room 405 and 414 thank you again !

This is now my favourite place to stay in Liverpool, and I have stayed in quite a few. Everything is great. It's not the biggest room, but there is plenty of space, and anything more would be pointless. The team here are just delightful and so friendly. It is clean and fully functional. Breakfast is great and just a lovely relaxing area. The whole hotel oozes calmness. I will definitely return.

We had the most wonderful stay at Aloft Liverpool. Traveling with a 16-month-old and our dog can sometimes feel overwhelming, but the staff here made everything effortless and truly special. Kelly, Pippa, Erin, and Dan were absolutely incredible—so attentive, kind, and genuinely thoughtful. They went above and beyond to make our little boy feel happy and comfortable (no small feat with a toddler!) and were just as welcoming to our dog, who was treated like part of the family. Their warmth and care made such a difference to our stay—we honestly felt at home from the moment we arrived. Huge thanks to the entire team for making our visit so memorable. We couldn’t recommend Aloft Liverpool more highly and can’t wait to return!

Good location for the city centre. Great city view. Nice breakfast. The staff are very friendly. Sadly neither of us could sleep. The bed is uncomfortable and the pillows are like rocks. Unusual bathroom set up with sliding door to separate loo & shower from sink area but the door doesn't close, it only goes 3/4 of the way and gets stuck. We tried to order drinks at the bar one night but they didn't have the ingredients. Only 1 very slow lift is working! I have limited mobility so the stairs are not appropriate for me.

Staying at Aloft Liverpool was a unique experience thanks to its setting in a beautiful Grade II listed building. The historic architecture adds character, and the location is excellent—just 7 minutes walk to the Royal Albert Dock or shopping mall. The price was also quite reasonable considering the central location and the uniqueness of the historical meaning. However, there were a few downsides to the stay. Despite the historical charm of the building, the reception and lobby area felt out of place. I feel like it's a youth hostel instead of a hotel under Marriott group. Noise was another issue: sounds from the corridor and street easily made their way into the room, which disrupted sleep. Most disappointing, though, was the attitude of a staff member we encountered. When we asked for help regarding discount price of nearby parking options, she was dismissive and unhelpful, simply telling us to “check what's on the ticket yourself”—a frustrating response, especially when you’re unfamiliar with the area. In summary, Aloft Liverpool offers a memorable stay for its location and unique building, but the service and attention to detail need improvement to match the setting’s potential.
