My husband and I decided to return to this property after our 30 day Europe travels...we were impressed initially because of value - location; and after our first experience decided it was definitely a property we'd feel good about reccomending to other travelers. The building is located in a lovely neighborhood; this property has been here awhile and well cared for - very clean. Comfortable beds - wonderful linens - fine staff and professional help or suggestions anytime you need. The dining area is very nice; relaxed bar area with great windows - food is well prepared and my husband is impressed with the breakfast banquet. Coffee/tea service in room and nicely updated bathrooms. Especially nice quiet area in the evenings and walking to small businesses and restaurants is easy. Paddington station is a mere 7 minute walk; which makes the rest of all of London reachable. Front Desk staff is welcoming and professional; helpful at any time of the day or night. First impressions are important and we were greeted with a smile and a clean; lovely interior. We'd recommend this property to anyone visiting London.

We decided to come back for our last 2 nights in London. Why? Value - Service - location and rooms. We feel this property deserves compliments - as we have felt "heard" when even a minor problem may occur - and staff all wish to make your stay delightful...if you need something; no problem - if they cannot accommodate they offer suggestions. We enjoyed our stay; comfortable and CLEAN rooms - quiet neighborhood - nice restaurant in the property and surrounding area. Relaxing bar. Great morning breakfast banquet. Walkability and ease to train station; and beautiful Hyde Park area and a sense of safety here. We would highly recommend this property to everyone considering a good location in a fine historical establishment.

The staff are really lovely, nothing negative about the service at all. The breakfast here is average, despite it being a free option, after the first morning experiencing it we decided to eat out the other mornings of our trip. The wifi here is horrible. It drops in and out every 2 seconds and won't reconnect for hours. So if you do stay here make sure you have data or have other ways to access what you need without wifi. The lobby does have wifi but it isn't so strong in the rooms. Overall a pleasant experience and for the price of the hotel, based on its location and close proximity to everything I'd say it's an okay choice. I think for next time I'm in London I would have a look around at a few other places before coming back here.

⚠️ Strong Warning – Unethical and Unprofessional Behavior at This Hotel I highly advise everyone to be extremely cautious before booking this hotel. I booked and fully paid for a suite through Booking.com, expecting a comfortable and professional stay. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. Upon arrival, I was given a ground-floor suite where the exterior door was broken, and the air-conditioning made loud disturbing noises. The housekeeping service was terrible — they only made the bed and took out the trash without cleaning or sanitizing anything else. At checkout, a receptionist named Christine (an older man with white hair) attempted to charge me £300 for “replacing the entire carpet” because of a few small drops of coffee that accidentally spilled. I immediately refused this false and unreasonable claim and demanded that the police be called to investigate. Suddenly, the amount was reduced from £300 to £100, and when I continued to refuse, he became nervous and told me to leave without paying anything. After that, when I asked for help with my luggage, the same receptionist rudely said, “We don’t offer this service.” Moments later, another helpful staff member came to assist me and confirmed that the hotel indeed provides this service, proving that the receptionist had deliberately lied. This entire experience reflects serious misconduct, dishonesty, and possible corruption by the reception staff. While some employees were polite, the actions of this particular receptionist were disgraceful and completely unacceptable. I strongly urge hotel management and Booking.com to investigate these unethical practices immediately. Guests should never be subjected to intimidation, false accusations, or deceptive charges. Because of this attempted exploitation, I will pursue my legal rights to ensure accountability and to prevent other guests from going through the same experience. This hotel has completely failed to meet basic ethical and professional standards. Think twice before booking here.
