This small boutique hotel exceeded our expectations in so many ways. It was easy to take the Elizabeth line from Heathrow and then just a short walk to the hotel. The location was perfect-easy to walk to so many sights, yet also very quiet. The street was quiet enough that we were able to sleep with the window open. The staff was pleasant and helpful and they tidied the room every day. We had large room that was perfect for us and our teenage daughter. While the bathroom could use some updating, it was very large by European standards. I noticed other reviews commenting on the breakfast, which was an additional charge with our room. We had it one morning, then decided it was a better value and more fun to simply walk to one of the many cafes nearby.

Excellent stay! We were in room 310 and it was wonderfully quiet—just as requested prior to arrival. Housekeeping was exceptional, with thoughtful touches like tea, coffee, and Biscoff treats. The front desk staff were friendly and very accommodating. The location is perfect—so close to the British Museum and the West End. We enjoyed it so much that we’ve already made reservations to return in December.

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near a park, grocery store, and bus stop. Overall, it was a pleasant place to stay. Our only issue was with the staff’s handling of a breakfast mix-up. We were a group of seven — two couples and a family of three. For some reason, when the family of three booked their room, breakfast wasn’t included. Upon check-in, the front desk clerk told them not to worry — that since we all shared the same last name, they would receive breakfast as well. The next morning, a different employee said they weren’t sure about the arrangement but told everyone to go ahead and get breakfast while they sorted it out. After the family of three had already eaten, the staff came over and said they wouldn’t be honoring what the previous employee had promised and charged them for the meal. The issue wasn’t the charge itself, but the way it was handled. They were told to eat first and informed afterward that they’d be billed. It was embarrassing for them and left a disappointing impression after an otherwise good stay.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights, the first night we found the bed was very uncomfortable, I could feel the springs and when I took the sheets off the mattress it was stained and looked well used, my husband and I asked if something could be done and they did change the mattress the next day but it was still old and stained, but a bit better comfort wise, it’s too bad because the hotel is very quaint with that English flair, nice thick crown moulding in room, walls have nice wallpaper, bathroom is stylish, and bathroom had a bath which I appreciated and the water was hot, lots of hand lotion, bath and body soap and shampoo etc and looked like the bathroom was renovated in the last two years, I appreciated that there was a kettle in the room but would be nice to have a small fridge and microwave, towels are getting old but clean, pillows are just okay, sheets are clean, the service I give 5/5 and say the staff are very friendly and helpful and location is so close to Russell square station; 5 minute walk; perfect for checking out all the areas of London. I would say this is a nice hotel but they need to change the mattresses and perhaps get mattress protection that covers the whole mattress and or add a mattress pad. Overall we had a good stay.

Seemed like an older hotel with some upkeep needed. Although it was nice we ran into some things with our 3 night stay. (had to wait a long time for water bottles, the restaurant had very minimal seating, the a/c in the room was switched to heat and no way to fix it back to a/c so we had to sleep with our window open, very minimal plugs available, restaurant/coffee downstairs was not open until later so had to walk to Starbucks to get coffee, there was no coffee maker in the room, only tea bags and tea kettle). The location was great since it was right next to British museum and a short walk to subway to get around the city. Felt very safe since this seemed like a residential part of town with minimal tourists.
