Thinking of getting married at the Town Hall Hotel? Oh please Go. For. It! Such a beautiful space, great location and amazing light and backdrop for photos. We just shot a wedding at the Council Chamber room. Full house, lots of guests and everyone fitted perfectly. The stairs at the front of the building are great for confetti shoots, formals and Bride & Groom portraits. The staff was lovely and attentive during the day. Can't wait to get back next year. :)

My husband booked a two-night stay at Town Hall Hotel for my 40th birthday, having previously stayed there for my 30th and really enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t live up to that earlier standard. The hotel describes itself as “luxury loosened,” which I understand as a more relaxed, minimal approach. Even with that in mind, the room felt underwhelming for a £300 Saturday night in a luxury hotel. It felt quite bare overall, lacked design detail, and the absence of a bath made the room feel limited for the price point. In places, the room also looked tired and in need of an update. On a positive note, we enjoyed the pool and the hotel is in a good location. However, overall the experience didn’t feel aligned with the standard advertised, which was disappointing given how much we’d enjoyed our previous stay. Based on this visit, I wouldn’t choose to stay again, which is a shame. We shared this feedback directly with the hotel after our stay but didn’t receive a response.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and honestly don’t understand how it qualifies as a five-star property. At best, it felt more like a three- to four-star hotel. A five-star hotel should offer basic services such as a concierge or assistance with luggage, but none of that was provided here. Our room wasn’t serviced unless we specifically asked, and even then the housekeeping itself was quite poor. That said, the maids were friendly — unfortunately, that was the only positive interaction we had with staff during our stay. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was for the heated pool, but the pool was broken throughout our stay, so we couldn’t use it at all. This was extremely disappointing. Breakfast was very average and not what you’d expect from a five-star hotel. Other than the maids, the staff were surprisingly unfriendly overall. We also experienced a lot of noise during the night, with doors constantly banging, which made it quite annoying and disrupted our sleep. Overall, the hotel just felt like a very odd place and didn’t live up to its rating or expectations. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re looking for five-star luxury, and I’m genuinely confused as to how it has been given a five-star rating.
