wonderful experience at Shrek's adventure. Don't be put off by lazy stereotypes or preconceived notions of 'overcommercialised nonsense' or 'lack of relevance to it's historic surroundings'. Shreks adventure is an uncomplicated good time and very worth the ticket price for any shrek fan. I booked through a third party and received a discount on the shrek ears headband. Arrival times were relatively flexible (booked for 2pm but staff were receptive to any time arrival i think so long as not overly busy.). The experience itself was fantastic. Performers were well drilled and professional, delivering classic shrek lines tinged with pop-culture references all whilst remaining in character as some of the most beloved icons from my childhood. The barmaid was a personal highlight but each of them were very good. The premises was clean and well put together with an impressive amount of shrek based regalia adorning the walls, ceilings, and floors of each space within the building. It was evident there was no stone unturned in their pursuit of ensuring accuracy to the lore of the entire series. Most other customers were up for the experience, clapping and singing along when prompted by staff, all of which added to the festival like atmosphere. To top it all off I even got a warm embrace from the shrek at the end of it all! He didn't seem concerned I was in his swamp. All in all 10/10, life changing stuff. I was in such a tiz after my visit i found myself drinking around 7 or 8 pints to celebrate the experience I had just enjoyed!!

We all really enjoyed our visit to Shrek Adventure, it's a bit like an interactive walk through experience where you go on a journey visiting various characters and doing various activities. The journey starts in the departure area where you are given a number of rules, many of which humerous (but also including making sure you turn your phones off). It was all ran quite well, the only bit if waiting we did was right near the beginning, after that you pretty much stay with a group all the way through. I thought the character actors did an awesome job (still owed a date with Cinderella at some point!) Getting the kids involved was super, and they were really engaged with what was happening which was fab to see. I think older kids probably wouldn't enjoy quite as much - but for our two it was great. Shrek adventure loses a star as you have 'photo opportunities' and you can buy the photos at the end (which I completely get / understand) - but they are not particularly cheap, and would have been nice to be given a photo as part of the experience, particularly as you couldn't take your own at any point during the adventure. Also, the end of the adventure there is a dreamworks area where you can take your own photos etc. but this sort of felt a little like it had been thrown in to pad it out, and lacked the level of interactivity the rest of the adventure had.

Unfortunately my least favourite of the 5 Merlin attraction pass, and I blame myself as I came in with big expectations as I love Shrek! And have watched all of the films 😅🫣 for a Shrek adventure you don’t see much of Shrek 😂 and is mainly led through the over characters as you crash into the forest and are on the run from the witches! The attraction themes are grand and get stars for that definitely, with the actors doing a great job and so engaging and encouraging with the kids! I enjoyed the bus “ride” at the start of the journey. Although a perfect attraction for children aged 14 and under, this is a character led experience very much aimed at a younger audience. The fact that you couldn’t take photos took part of the enjoyment away for me, being a person that loves to document their travels, I don’t have much photos other than the dreamwork exhibition (although I love kungfu panda, Madagascar and how to train your dragon it didn’t fit in with the theme) for photo opportunities at the end and the corridors around the event! I enjoyed what we did but left slightly somewhat dissatisfied as I imaged it would be much better than it was. Would recommend for families with young children.
