Located along the river in Hackney Wick, our venue is a highly versatile and unique destination, offering a range of spaces that can be tailored to suit events of all styles and sizes.
At the heart of the venue is our floating restaurant, set aboard a beautifully restored 126-year-old Dutch barge. This characterful space offers a truly memorable dining experience, combining historic charm with a refined yet relaxed atmosphere. Alongside this, we have our sister boat, The Milkfloat, which, with both a lower deck and rooftop space, provides a more laid-back but equally distinctive setting.
Our riverside outdoor venue further expands the possibilities, with a combination of the terrace, gardens, and rooftop, hosting up to 300+ guests. These areas are ideal for relaxed, open-air events and can be booked individually or combined with the indoor spaces to create a seamless flow throughout the day.


One of the key strengths of the venue is its flexibility, as spaces can be used independently or together, allowing you to design a fully bespoke event. Whether you’re planning a corporate conference, networking event, private party, or wedding, we can tailor the setup, catering, and atmosphere to suit your vision.

We offer a wide range of catering options, from formal seated dining to BBQ experiences and casual street food, alongside curated drinks packages. In addition, we can help organise entertainment and activities to elevate your event, including DJs, live music, creative workshops, and even our own on-site canoeing, kayaking, and paddleboarding experiences, perfect for building a full-day programme with varied and engaging moments!

Our Terrace at Barge East is a vibrant riverside space, perfect for both relaxed gatherings and larger celebrations.

You have the option to either reserve a dedicated area for your group while still being part of the main lively atmosphere, or to privately hire the space for special occasions and larger-scale events.

The Terrace has a capacity of around 125 guests and features its own bar. The usual offering is a bistro-style and street food menu, with outdoor dining-style seating, all fully covered so you’ll be comfortable whatever the weather.

For larger events, the space is very versatile and can be transformed to suit your needs. We can adapt the layout and seating to fit your event, whether that’s a standing reception, festival-style party, wedding reception and more.
