About Venue

Grocer to the Queen and most of her predecessors since 1707, this venerable institution has five private dining spaces. On the fourth floor, the Drawing Room is a light, airy space for up to 80, while the Tasting Room lends itself to lunches, dinners and afternoon teas. At lower-ground level, medieval stoneware and decorative panelling create an intimate atmosphere in the Crypt, which suits wine tastings and dinners. The Boardroom – the venue of choice for Fortnum’s own directors for more than a century – is a secluded space for meetings. The Gallery restaurant seats 100 and can be hired exclusively for private events.

A lovely shop to visit, although very crowded, the items are displayed so tidily and beautifully, looking so appealing. There is a lot of variety of whatever you are looking for, whether tea, biscuits or chocolates of other items. The staff were lovely, especially the Kenyan lady behind the deli counter when we visited 16/09/25 in afternoon. She was so helpful, friendly and had a beautiful smile!

The shop is very attractive and colorful with all the different kind of sweets and tea they offer. Upon going up the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon, we were greeted by a lovely receptionist and an amazing pianist was playing a beautiful piece. The salon looks ordinary, but they said this was the place frequented by the royalties, something we wanted to experience as well. Food was amazing, but it is very pricey. 😅 But yea, we enjoyed our High Tea experience 🥰

This establishment filled me with enthusiasm; the staff member who assisted me possessed extensive knowledge about wines. As I was purchasing a bottle for a female friend and do not consume alcohol myself, I required guidance. I inquired about the type of wine suitable for a woman, and he recommended white wine, which turned out to be an excellent choice for my friend. Additionally, the wine was affordably priced, which was a pleasant surprise.

I went to browse Christmas hampers, and it did feel as though prices had indeed gone up. The hampers and some kitchenware were on the third floor, the second floor had perfumes, an afternoon tea café and porcelain sets, the first floor offered Christmas decorations and cards, while the ground floor had chocolates, teas and honey. However, part of it seemed to be under renovation, so there appeared to be fewer items than usual. I still saw plenty of tourists happily picking out various goods on the ground floor, yet in contrast, I also noticed staff having to tidy up items that customers had picked up as if to buy, only to leave them carelessly scattered around. I believe it is not only sales performance that should be assessed, but also the manners and attitude of customers.

We absolutely love shopping here as well as just browsing. They are already preparing for Christmas which just gives a festive vibe. Everyone was so helpful answering any questions we had. There are a few places to get a bite to eat or something to drink. My only disappointment is that I love carrot cake, but had just eaten. They had an amazing looking carrot cake at The Parlour cafe, BUT they don't offer a to go box/option. Really surprising that such an upscale company would not have an equally upscale to go option for their baked goods. For that I'm giving them 4 stars. I bet they could come up with a charming "to go" box that matches their upscale style. If they answer my challenge, I will gladly change my rating to 5 stars!
