About Venue

Severndroog castle is a gothic-style tower, built in 1784 by Lady James.  The castle was built as an expression of love to commemorate the achievements of Lady James’ late husband, Sir William James. With this romantic gesture as the foundation of the castle what better place to tie the knot. You don’t have to build a tower to celebrate your love but you can hire this romantic castle for your special day.
The castle is situated on the summit of Shooters Hill and is surrounded by an enchanted woodland which provides a perfect backdrop for ceremonies and photos. Severndroog is the perfect venue for intimate ceremonies in a unique setting.

A hidden gem within a lovely forest. It was a pleasure to walk up to it. You can grab a coffee and something to eat there too. They’ve got a café. It’s a nice getaway from the city’s bustle.

Cool hidden gem. Great spot to stop and grab a coffee and bite to eat. Loved the markets that were open on Sunday. The area surrounding the castle is great for walking the dog. Have yet to go up the castle itself but seeing other reviews, it appears to have great views at the top.

If you are looking for an extraordinary view of pretty much... The whole of London + a view into the south east and Kent, then this is the place, for £5 you can understand how London is layed out in it's cente and also on the Green Belt. There is a small café on the ground floor to recharge, and on a Sunday you can find an artisan Farmers Market... It's well worth it... Forget about the Shard or London eye

The walk up to the building was nice with the autumn leaves lining the path. The structure is reseasonably maintained. We were unable to go to the platform - which was the main reason for visiting- because it is only open on Sundays. The cafe was ok but over priced, the bagel was served cold and on a paper plate.
