About Venue
Syon House is the spectacular London home of the Duke of Northumberland. The house was built in the sixteenth century on the site of the Medieval Syon Abbey, and came to the family of the present owners in 1594. Syon has many layers of history and has seen some profound changes over the centuries
From time to time for very special events, it is possible to hire the larger open green spaces – the Lime Avenue, The Helicopter Field, the Twenty Acre/Farmer’s field, the enclosed Wilderness or the South Lawn. These areas are suitable for grand balls, exhibitions/trade shows, conferences, fashion shows, teambuilding and other events.
We like well-managed, creative events – and we are definitely open to interesting ideas. Every event is considered on its own merits, and facility fees are calculated on an individual basis. For example, ideas for outdoor pursuits are: Falconry, Ferret racing, Laser clay shooting, Crossbow, Archery, Duck herding, Dog handling, Segway course.

I'm aiming to be back for a tour after learning lots about key history this place was involved in. Charles I almost had London reclaimed, lady jane gray staying here and relations to normans who invaded. Well worth buying. I'm reading through the house brochure with Fantastic history. The paths around the grounds aren't bad for a walk either!!

Guide Carla provided a good tour of the rooms in this very historic house, including photographs and portraits of the owner's family and royal visitors. Weather (wind) cancelled the Gardens and Conservatory portion of the tour, and half the ticket price was refunded. There is a gift shop, deli, garden centre and Christmas shop on site. The deli offers beers and wines. Don’t bother arriving early; the gate and door to the house are opened only at 10:30, for the first tour.
