Found just at the corner of Elgin Avenue and Lanark Road The Elgin is a 50-yard walk from Maida Vale tube station and 10 minutes from Paddington. There’s been a pub on this site for decades and at The Elgin we are proud to carry on the tradition of providing the best food, drink and service the area has to offer.
Over the last few years The Elgin has become one of the area’s leading destinations for birthday parties, engagement parties, corporate dos and wonderful wedding receptions.
As you enter the venue and take the stairs to the private first floor bar you are greeted with a unique and individual space packed full of character and local charm with exposed brick walls and ceiling high bay windows. Although the room has a great feel for it there is still scope for you to add your own individual personality to it with extra decorative touches.
With space for up to 80 people seated or 100 standing this private room can host a range of different party types for all occasions.
If, however, you want something just that bit bigger you could take over the whole venue and have space for over 230 people standing. Whether it’s your company Christmas do, a summer party or the wedding of the year, you can choose to use the venue however works best for you. Split the bar into dining upstairs and dancing downstairs or just keep the party going with a late-night extension to 2am and a DJ of your choice.
If you’re having a seated meal then our 3-course family-style feasting menu is the perfect way to enjoy a sociable meal where everybody gets to taste a little of everything. Or if you prefer to keep it more casual then our sharing boards of hearty finger foods, including Spiced Crab Toasts, Cheeseburger Sliders & Mini Chocolate Brownies are all perfect for easy eating with no cutlery required and we have a good selection of vegan and gluten free options too.

June 2025Loved this place. Fantastic gastro pub food, especially the fried chicken and croquettes. The staff were friendly and service was good. Had an excellent selection of ales and beers. We had a big group and it worked out really well.

July 2025Bit of a late review. We where passing on the way into central the staff are amazing very friendly. I have a wheat and dairy intolerance and nothing on the menu was of my liking. So after speaking to the chef they agreed to put something together for me. Going out there way was much appreciated and the food was amazing also an amazing atmosphere.

May 2025Couldn’t recommend this place more! We hosted our wedding reception at the Elgin in August 2024 and it couldn’t have gone any better! The place is amazing and the staff are even better they truly made our day what it was! The food is incredible that and the staff are the reason we booked this place! All our friends and family had the best time and everyone still says how amazing the food and vibes were now!! Thank you so much we will regularly come back to reminisce our favourite day ever!

May 2025Ordered the mushroom on toast, £10 and it was awful. The mushrooms were either burnt or overcooked. The sourdough was really hard. It’s a total fail and god knows how hard it is to mess up a mushroom toast… The staff handled the feedback with a lot of attention though and seemed genuinely concerned. They gave a £2.5 discount. So great staff, average to awful food (my partner mushroom burger was a £17 deep fried portobello mushroom with a little bit of garlic mayo - overpriced and not really tasty either). I’d recommend going there for a pint or two in a lovely and sunny place but stay away from the food.
