Maddox Club, The Green Room

I honestly can’t relate to the negative comments—I found the atmosphere really warm and welcoming. I had an amazing time, especially thanks to Gigi and Eleni, who were both professional and great fun. The food was delicious too. Would definitely come back!

The lady at the door was asking if he had a table and actually we had already requested a table before 2 days ago and then surprisedly she didn’t accept us. We were nice and kind we at least asked for a bar seating but she didn’t want to accept us but she was accepting people looking like a gypsy I think that’s what this place deserves to have. Also it’s easy to bribe them as someone gave money to one guy.

Unfortunately, we had an extremely disappointing experience at the entrance to Maddox Club. My friend and I were on the guest list and were both appropriately dressed in blazer dresses and heels. Two female members of staff at the door, presumably hostesses, repeatedly and very obviously looked us up and down from head to toe with unpleasant, judgmental expressions. I work in the fashion industry and fully understand that high-end venues have certain dress codes and door policies, but there was absolutely nothing inappropriate about our appearance or the way we were dressed. Eventually, they told us that we could enter, but their attitude had already made us feel so uncomfortable that I directly told them that the way they were treating us was not appropriate. One of them stepped towards me and continued with the same arrogant attitude, implying that this was simply part of her job. Making guests feel uncomfortable and unwelcome should never be part of anyone’s job in hospitality. What shocked me even more was what happened when I asked for their names because I intended to make a complaint. They both gave me the same name and laughed. In my opinion, this was extremely unprofessional and immature behaviour. Despite being allowed entry, we chose to leave without even entering the club. I completely respect a venue’s right to maintain its standards and door policy. What I do not respect is staff making guests feel judged, mocked or unwelcome. There is a difference between being selective and simply being rude. For a venue that positions itself at this level, I would expect considerably more professionalism and basic respect from the people representing it at the door.
