About Venue
The King's Head is a Nicholson's pub on Stafford Street in Mayfair, dating back to 1710 and standing on land formerly owned by the Duke of Albemarle. Built in the heart of one of London's most prestigious neighbourhoods, it sits within walking distance of the Ritz, Buckingham Palace, Bond Street, and the West End theatre district, making it one of the most uniquely positioned pubs in central London.
The building has a genuine sense of heritage inside and out. Wooden floors, decorative panelling, heritage paint colours, period lighting, framed portraits, and burgundy tufted banquettes give it a warm, characterful feel that blends easily with its high-end Mayfair surroundings. The pub is named after King Charles II by most accounts, though some credit King George II — both appear on the pub's sign as a nod to the historical ambiguity. The venue serves cask ales, premium gins, and hearty British pub classics alongside a full cocktail and wine list.
Two private and semi-private spaces are available for hire: the Cellar Bar, a fully private subterranean space with arched brick alcoves and its own bar, and the Main Restaurant upstairs, a bright, chandelier-lit dining room with leather booth seating. Both come with complimentary WiFi, projector and screen, flip chart, bottled water, tea, coffee, and morning pastries included. Decorations are welcome provided no damage is caused and no confetti or party poppers are used. Bring-your-own-cake is permitted.
Green Park station is 0.1 miles away, with Bond Street and Piccadilly Circus also close by. No on-site parking, with paid parking at Old Bond Street 0.1 miles.
