A short walk from Hyde Park with stunning views over the leafy Westbourne Terrace lies Roseate Hotels & Resorts’ luxury boutique hotel, Roseate House London.

The opulent auberge offers a stunning view of the street once described as the ‘finest in London’ facing St James Church, where Oscar Wilde espoused. Roseate House London features 48 luxurious rooms and suites spread across three mid-19th century, Grade-II townhouses built in 1842, restored to the original allure and charm of their rudimentary Victorian architecture.

Intimate and cosy surroundings are complemented with a design that re-invents the traditional hotel bar whilst still retaining the character of a 19th Century quintessentially British townhouse. Original, period features and artwork are enhanced by luxurious spaces to celebrate, relax and unwind. The Hyde offers an exclusive retreat away from the cut and thrust of bustling central London

Fantastic hotel! I am a little invested with nice hotels and this one was amazing. Firstly, it’s amazing for the value. If I paid £300 a night I would have been disappointed, but for £150 it was outstanding value. I was surprised at every step by how good it was for the price. The reception is smart with a welcoming doorman and very lovely staff. We managed to get a check in 3hrs early which was much appreciated. The room was large and well appointed with a huge, comfortable bed. We had room service for dinner which was delicious. Even the check out time of 1200 was generous. Some of the furniture had some chips and marks etc, but for the price this was totally fine when you account for how everything else was so spot on. All in all a wonderful experience and located a few steps from Paddington Station.

Hotel itself was quite nice but they need to get their systems in check as I received upwards of 20 emails and 8 phone calls confirming, reconfirming and reconfirming my booking details. They’re very sweet, but just seem very disorganized. I won’t even go into the debacle that was the car service they “arranged” for me to the airport after checkout. Suffice it to say, I strongly recommend getting an Uber.

Great location and generous checkout times. The rooms were clean but small. The rest of the experience was lacking for us and was especially disappointing for a 5 star hotel. Our room experienced loud mechanical rattling in the night. We had to get out of bed, pack up and move to a room in the basement. The room in the basement was underneath the lobby/dining area. The two pushed together beds were smaller than a regular bed so our feet dangled off the edge. The following morning we were woken early by the lobby foot traffic and leaf blowers outside our below ground window. The staff did not follow up on how our stay was when we checked out. We got the impression that they only wanted to ask that question if they knew the answer would be positive.

SWINDLED. My wife and I checked in around three, were shown to our tiny room, then we visited the bar to unwind from our travels. There my wife ordered a drink and I scanned the shelves of whiskies. We’d stayed in Scotland the previous week, and I wanted to enjoy something other than the ubiquitous Scotch whiskey . I pointed to one on the shelf and the barman served. Half an hour later we received the bill, wherein we were charged 660 pounds for an ounce of whiskey. Here’s the swindle part. At no point were we alerted to the price. They were not posted nor alluded to by the staff. I spoke to the manager, who explained, unhelpfully, that sometimes his wealthy customers became insulted when questioned over their ability to afford drinks of this price. I grieve for the bruising of the famously tender sensibilities of the wealthy, but find no equivalency here. Subsequently, the unhelpful manager offered a gratis bottle of champagne. I shut the door in his face. For context, the cost of that ounce of whiskey is more than the monthly mortgage on our house. We are not poor, but far from wealthy. Any rate, we have secured a barrister, and we’ll see what happens. Hats off to the several hotel staffers who commiserated regarding the situation. One of them, a young man I won’t name, offered to give us money personally if we needed it to get back home. We didn’t, but he was very very kind, and five grateful stars to him!
