We've only been here for breakfast two days and for coffee. The stuff is very nice and sweet. Food and drinks come fast and taste delicious. We can only recomand eating here!

Great little boutique hotel, close to train and bus stations. Service was awesome, the staff even better. Thanks for all your assistance during our overnight stay, especially with our bags!

We ate at the restaurant today. The food is nice but the attitude of the staff stinks. Unexpectedly we were 9 instead of 8 and needed an extra chair for our group. So I asked one of the wait staff. She offered it from the empty table next to us. A few minutes later, the manager arrived and shouted at us for ‘stealing a chair’. When I explained calmly and politely that his colleague had given it, he said, ‘oh she’s drunk’. He made the child sitting in said chair get up and give it to him. He then said there wasn’t another chair in the entire half empty restaurant to replace it. He was spiteful and petty and very unprofessional - not the standard of service you’d expect from Artist Residence. Eventually he came back with a chair from downstairs but by that point he’d upset our whole group, especially the teenager he evicted from the chair his colleague had given us. We never felt welcome. The food was good but the kitchen staff should feel let down by the front of house manager and his aggressive and unacceptable behaviour.

Absolutely terrible customer service experience at this hotel. I can't comment on the experience of staying there only the booking experience. We booked one night accommodation via Expedia, as a last minute trip. We wanted to bring our small dog so we made sure to filter for dog friendly hotels and this was the first hotel to show in the listings. I read the listing thoroughly to make sure the hotel was indeed dog friendly and at no point was there any mention that only specific rooms were dog friendly, nor did it specify this in the hotel's pet policy it only stated the pet fee. I always check this as there have been some hotels in the past where they have noted specific rooms not being dog friendly. So on the basis of this we booked this hotel. However, a day after we booked, literally the night before we were due to check in, I received a message from the manager Leanne stating we would need to be charged £50 extra to move to a dog friendly room in addition to the £15 pet fee per night. She didn't even care to call to inform me to ensure I got the message, given that our booking was the next day. Even worse she didn't even respond back to my message so I ended up calling them to discuss my options, even though it was a non refundable booking. Out of principle I refused to pay extra due to their misleading advertising. Additionally, they weren't even fully booked, in fact several rooms were still available so they could have easily made good on their mistake and moved us to a dog friendly room without charge, but instead decided to cause us undue stress by their inflexibility and we were forced to sort out alternative accommodation. Luckily we were able to get Expedia to refund the full amount but this booking experience was certainly below par. We certainly will never book here and we will actively advise friends, family and my colleagues to never consider this establishment due to its lack of customer service and flexibility. The silver lining is that we managed to find a more exceptional hotel to stay at that we absolutely loved. Don't be misled by this hotel like we were, your money is better spent elsewhere.
