Overall: Wonderful food, exceptional service and a great atmosphere. My first time here and it definitely won't be the last when making any future trips to London. I stopped by and had the Mannheim breakfast which was delicious and the best Leberkäse meatloaf I've had for a long time. Such a simple meal but all the elements worked together so elegantly. I paired it with the Early Sunshine smoothie/juice drink which is great if you love strong and slightly sour fruity flavours. For after, I ordered a latte that was super smooth. The staff were also so kind to allow me to use their cloakroom ticket service to store some shopping while I ate. While dining, I was looked after by Alina, who was super friendly and lovely to chat with while I soaked up the calm and chilled atmosphere of the morning. To all at German Gymnasium: Thank you for such a lovely morning on my travels.

Booked a table at German Gymnasium last minute on Sunday and had a great time. The food was exceptional and the service was spot on. The staff were really attentive and even stored our luggage while we ate, which was a nice touch. We ordered a couple of pints of lager that turned out to be quite flat, but we didn’t realise until our third round that it wasn’t meant to taste like that. We mentioned it to the team, who confirmed it was just a bad batch and kindly took the two off the bill. Overall, a really enjoyable meal with great food and friendly service – would happily visit again.

We arrived for our table and we were taken to our table in a very impressive building. We were presented with menus and our drinks order was taken quite promptly. We ordered Weiner schnitzel, chicken schnitzel with a portion of fries as it only came with red cabbage and a red wine jus and Currywurst. The Chicken schnitzel and the currywurst were very good however the Weiner schnitzel was quite poor and tasteless but an impressive size. Authentic Weiner schnitzel should be deep fried in butter and the breaded coating should be quite bubbly looking which this was flat and very dry and at these prices the customer deserves better. However the Weiner schnitzel was accompanied with warm potato salad which was a first for me as I’ve only had it cold but it was delicious. We ordered two deserts a Black Forest Gateaux and a chocolate torte which went down a storm. Service was fast and hectic as the place is very busy and a bit under staffed but all in all a nice evening.

Excellent European feels right outside King’s Cross & St. Pancras station. The Kasekrainer was the best pork sausage I’ve tasted yet. Add to this - Quick efficient and friendly service and we have a winner. Well done! If I were to nitpick - it would be about the 13.5% service charge, which wasn’t optional as per the bill. But i did not ask if it was optional. Pretty steep, might I add. Will definitely try this place again.

German Gymnasium is worth visiting even just for its architecture. The building is beautiful and grand - impressive without feeling intimidating. We visited so as to try their Oktoberfest menu, and the experience was a bit of a hit and miss. The Kässpätzle was a little too stodgy for our taste, but the roast meat was excellent; perfectly cooked and full of flavour. What really stood out, though, was the service: attentive, friendly, and impeccable throughout.
