About Venue

We are the number #1 'Activity to do in London' on Tripadvisor

Thames Rockets took to the river Thames in 2006 becoming the first ever speedboat tour operator in London. Within a matter of months our first award ‘Small Business of the Year’ was proudly mounted on our now overflowing mantelpiece, quickly followed with the ‘Best New Tourist Attraction: Gold Award’ from VisitLondon. Soon after came Five Stars from the famous Timeout, London magazine.

Before long our customers returned with their friends, and friends of friends. Word soon spread to TripAdvisor and over the next 12 years the five-star reviews flooded in. 2014 saw Thames Rockets crowned #1 Activity in London – all thanks to our valued passengers taking to the internet to shout about our unique brand of off-beat humour and 21st-century sightseeing. It didn’t stop there – in 2016 we entered the Hall of Fame after receiving our 8th consecutive Certificate of Excellence and most recently VisitEngland awarded us 'UK Family Attraction, 2017'... Speedy by name, speedy by nature!

We are always on hand and ready to bring you and your friends, family and colleagues on Rocket experiences through the most famous city on Earth. Revved up and raring to fly, come and see why we are the #1 ‘thing to do’ in London.

We’re going to let you in on a little secret…

When the moon is full and there’s a nip in the air things change…. WE change!!!

Tip-toe down to the London Eye Pier and blow away the cobwebs with a 50 minute spine-tingling blast through the capital! Your ghoulish guide will be on hand to make you howl, and your spooky skipper will whoosh you away on your very own ‘fright flight’. A ‘monster mash-up’ of creepy classics will accompany you as you howl with joy at 35mph around the dark docklands. This is a Halloween to remember…

Fancy dress not mandatory but always encouraged!

10/10 experience from a local of 20yrs. Took my little cousins (16) while they visited London and it was so much fun for everyone. What’s good for people who also want a quick LDN tour as you see everything! Shout out to Ross! Our amazing tour guide!

From the moment we checked in at London Eye Pier, my family and I genuinely felt welcomed. Charlene greeted us warmly and made sure we were comfortable as we got ready. Rocky, our skipper, gave us complete confidence with his skill at the helm. Leoni, our guide, made the whole experience stand out with her witty commentary. She mixed humour with history in a way that kept both adults and children entertained from start to finish. We arrived early and got good seats. Facing forward gave the best views. The ride began with a lively guided tour. Leoni’s energy and sense of humour brought London’s landmarks to life. We learned fun facts, such as the London Eye’s 32 pods representing boroughs, while laughing along the way. Once we passed Tower Bridge, the real thrill began. Rocky opened up the engines, and we sped through the Docklands at around 35 mph. The speed section was exhilarating, with sharp turns and the city skyline racing past. It felt like being part of a James Bond chase , and yes, the film tune was played on board. We saw the Houses of Parliament, Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe, HMS Belfast, and St Paul’s. The boat went under bridges, including Waterloo’s “Ladies Bridge,” built by women during WWII. The combination of sights, speed, and commentary was excellent. The trip lasted 50 to 60 minutes, which felt just right. On the return, the pace slowed so we could laugh, catch our breath, and take photos. The boat itself was impressive. At 16 metres long and seating 26, it was smooth and steady. It felt safer than smaller RIBs and was designed with comfort and safety in mind. My children loved every moment. They were grinning throughout and wanted to go again. We also appreciated the attention to safety, from lifejackets and seatbelts to advice like tying back long hair for my wifey. Highlights: Friendly team Witty and entertaining commentary from Leoni Controlled speed that thrilled without soaking us Iconic London sights seen in a unique way Safe and smooth ride suitable for children and adults The laughter, thrills, and warm service made it one of our best family experiences in London. Highly recommended. Bring a warm layer in cooler weather, and arrive at least 15 minutes early if you want front row seats.

One of the funnest experiences we’ve ever had IN THE WORLD! We’re from Los Angeles and travel extensively. Our guide was Sofia—lovely, funny and engaging. Our speed demon Captain was Matt. After a leisurely ride past the police station on the Thames, we blasted off to the Beatles, Queen and best of all, the James Bond theme. It was absolutely magical and unforgettable. There’s nothing quite like seeing the up close grandeur of the Tower Bridge and passing below it or an unobstructed, up close view of Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster fully illuminated by sunlight. This is our 3rd time in London and the first time I can truly say, this experience was the moment I fell in love with it. The only recommendation I’d make is that all the music should be all be British—an homage to the innumerable English icons to music! Thank you for a once in a lifetime experience.
