About Venue
Apples and Pears is an independent, fun cocktail bar in East London offering private party venue hire to celebrate birthdays, leaving parties, engagements and corporate events. The venue has hosted a range of parties and you can arrange private bar hire of the whole venue or just one bar for your guests to party the night away. The friendly staff at Apples and Pears will be available to assist you every step of the way to ensure your event is a success.
The venue is just a 5 minute walk from Aldgate East underground station with close proximity to Brick Lane, Spitalfields, Shoreditch and the City. There are delicious wood-fired pizzas, cocktails, craft beers and wines to cater for all tastes, and an atmosphere packed with East London energy. There’s a full sound system that you can connect your device to on both floors, two cocktail bars, a heated garden, Wi-Fi, screen, experienced cocktail bartenders, friendly staff and owners, and security.
Canapés and bowl food are available for if you’re a minimum of 30 guests. BBQ’s are available in the summer when hiring the whole venue or lounge bar exclusively. Apples and Pears work with only approved caterers and are happy to provide menus upon request. If you want something more casual, there’s an excellent wood-fired pizza menu for you to dig into.
Upon request Prosecco, Champagne or cocktail drink receptions for your guest's arrival can be arranged. Each bar is stocked full of international spirits and the bar team are always available to produce an array of irresistible, hand-crafted cocktails that are sure to leave your guests happy.
When hiring our basement bar for your party, you can expect the following:
- Efficient and quick communication by Kim who will be your point of contact throughout your booking.
- A friendly bar team and security to look after you and your guests, managed by Reggie.
- You can play your own music or bring your own DJ. We provide fully equipped DJ equipment. Or, we can provide background music for you and you can control the volume as desired.
- Our basement bar is fully air controlled with air conditioning in the warmer months.
- There's quick access to an outdoor area.
- Regarding decorations, this is fine providing it's within our specific guidelines. However, decoration is not permitted in December just because we decorate for Christmas but you can bring free standing balloons.
- You can bring a cake.
- You can bring your own nibbles and finger food if you wish.
- You can have your own personalised cocktail menu at no extra cost. Info on this is provided after booking.
Overall, we work hard to ensure your party goes smoothly and we make sure you and your guests have a good time!

Cancellation policy
1. In the event that the Hirer cancels their event with Apples & Pears, any cancellation made by the Hirer must be notified in writing. A cancellation fee will be charged, and is payable as follows: • For all pre booked events cancelled in writing 90 days prior to the date of the event, the deposit will be refunded in full. • For all pre booked events cancelled 89-61 days prior to the event 50% of the deposit will be charged as a penalty. • For all pre booked events cancelled less than 60 days prior to the date of the event 100% of the deposit will be retained by Apples & Pears.

I hired this venue for my husbands birthday. The staff were all amazing and so friendly. The bar itself is really nice and they offer a wide range of drinks. I hired Apples and Pears for my 30th birthday and couldn’t have asked for a better venue. From the start to finish, Kim was very attentive and accommodating with all my enquiries, communication was always clear and timely. On the night, Louis and the team were fantastic, and the custom cocktails I was able to select in advance were a huge hit amongst everyone! The DJ (DJ Rene, recommended through Shom who works closely with the venue) kept the party going and created such a fun atmosphere, a great recomm. From the location and interior to the service and overall vibe, everything exceeded my expectations and made the night truly memorable. If you’re looking for a spot to celebrate with your favourite people, I can’t recommend Apples and Pears enough. Huge thanks again to the whole crew for making my 30th so special!

My husband loves the Brick Lane area of London with all the street art, and so I was on the hunt for a cool venue to celebrate his 50th. Apples and Pears has been the most amazing choice we could have made for not only East London, but all of London! Our friends from all over have not stopped raving about what a cool place this venue is, and I actually can’t wait to have an excuse to host another event there!! Kim is the most efficient events person ever to liaise with. A superstar with the drinks order when I wanted to add in bottles of alcohol-free fizz to offer guests, she will make sure you feel welcome, organised and in the best hands. Reggie and the two lovely barmen on the night could not have been more incredible. A lot of friends said they had never felt more looked after at a venue! For our event I hired the Lounge bar on the ground floor, with its high ceilings and an excellent sound system. The day (11th July) had been a boiling hot 30 degrees, which did not matter, as the air-conditioning inside this place is one of the best I've ever come across in a bar on such a hot day! We organised our own DJ and food (samosas, Brick Lane bagels and a graffiti cake!) It is worth asking about lighting and decorations, as they are allowed within guidelines (all of which we were happy with and everything worked out really well) - we brought along our own disco & fairy lights, a few arty decorations/activities (such as sketch pads on the shelves) and we had an artist sketch the party scene, which all added to the East London street art atmosphere I envisioned ! Apples and Pears was THE perfect venue for our event, honestly don’t hesitate to reserve if you are!! Thank you so much to Kim, Reggie and the awesome bar guys for making it a smashing milestone to remember !
