One Birdcage Walk, the home of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers is located in the heart of Westminster - minutes from the Houses of Parliament, HM Treasury and Horse Guards Parade.

Easily accessible, we are just a 5-minute walk from Westminster and St James's Park tube stations, and 15 minutes from Victoria, Charing Cross and Waterloo stations.

Our event spaces offer flexible space for a variety of different events, including many with stunning views overlooking St James' Park. Almost all our spaces have natural daylight, which provides a more cost-effective option for conferences, board meetings, away days, training courses, fine dining and launch events.

We can host smaller groups of up to 36 attendees in our boardrooms through to 210 guests in our stunning tiered Lecture Theatre.

A bright and spacious space, featuring perfect for boardroom meetings or as a VIP room for larger events. Located on the ground floor, along the impressive Presidential corridor, the George Stephenson Room can accommodate up to 22 people in a boardroom style layout. This space features the desk that belonged to George Stephenson, the renowned engineer better known as the “Father of Railways” and founder of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Due to its proximity to the Lecture Theatre, this venue space can also be used as a green room/waiting room for speakers of larger events.
