Gaucho Manchester, Exclusive Hire

Really enjoyed our dinner at Gaucho Manchester. I’d had this place on my list for a while, mainly because of the beautiful setting in a converted church, and the huge white organ is such a nice feature. 🤍 The restaurant has recently been refurbished with a warm, darker colour scheme, which gives it a really elegant feel. We had the Crab on Toast and King Prawns Sugo to start, followed by the ribeye and fillet, both cooked medium. The steak was juicy and cooked just how we liked it. We also had the chips and mash, and somehow still managed to finish with the banana pancake and chocolate brownie!🥩🍫🍟 A special thanks to Darell, who was really nice and friendly throughout our meal. Overall, a lovely evening and definitely somewhere I’d come back to.🙌🏻

On my arrival I walked in as I wanted to take video and one of the workers shouted yes queen, that was so lovely, I got a compliment as well. Very professional workers, very lovely place, it took as time to get a table, but we eventually got one, they service was a bit slow as we had to wait for a bit to pay. But what a lovely day I had, they food very nice I ordered sea food meal and I really did enjoy it. It’s because I wanted to taste something different than regular meals and this was fantastic. My sister got a free cake as it was her birthday bomb. Will definitely be going there again.

I recently visited Gaucho for a Sunday roast and unfortunately the experience didn’t quite live up to the price. The starter, crab on toast, was actually very nice. The lime worked really well with it and it was a great way to start the meal. However, things started to fall short when the mains arrived. I had the roast beef Sunday roast. The beef itself was tender and the gravy was lovely, but the roast potatoes and carrots were only lukewarm, which took away from what should have been a comforting dish. The biggest disappointment though was the chateaubriand, which costs £41 per person. For a premium steak you’d expect a noticeably better portion or overall experience, but the portion size was basically the same as the roast beef but the difference was a bit of green. Compared to other steakhouses at a similar price point, you usually get far more value and a more impressive serving. Drinks were also disappointing. Cocktails were around £14 to £15 but arrived with a huge ice cube and very little actual drink, which made them feel like a rip off. Overall, while there were a couple of positives, the value for money just wasn’t there. For the price, I would honestly rather go somewhere like a more casual pub, or even an independent steakhouse where the portions and pricing feel a lot more reasonable. It will probably be a while before or last time I step foot in a place like this as I went McDonalds after because I was still hungry
