The Mitre Hotel is my go to swag pad in all of Manchester. Cheap and very cheerful the staff there always have a smile on their face and will help you out with whatever you need, and the rooms are very comfortable. They seemed to have fixed the 'gag mag' issue that i encountered last time. 5 stars

Great rooms, amazing view, great location, great reception staff/ hotel staff; patient & kind. Good value for money. Not so great bar staff: slow & cocktails were disgusting, bar toilet was gross & hotel bathroom was a little dirty. T.V is small & only one chair in a room for 3 - kettle was placed on a shelf high up, a bit high to careful make coffee/ tea. Pillows were a bit dirty, a lot of stains under the pillow cases. I love the age & wonky-ness of the building, so if you stay here be careful on the stairs with luggage. It was a cute building, historical & convenient. Would stay again - overall amazing stay! Just remember the church bells go off a while morning & evening on Sundays.

All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Huge shout out to Liam who assisted us with surprising the birthday girl. The room (family room top floor) itself was clean, it did lack electric sockets but that’s to be expected in a listed building and I echo the previous review regarding the steep stairs which caused much amusement when we returned after our night out!

Room was clean overall (though we found airport suitcase stickers from other guests) and the bed was comfy, but the wallpaper was falling off. The shower looked old, the water pressure and temperature controls were awful, and we could hear everything happening in other rooms. I think they are confused by their vintage name and refuse to fix decaying issues. Only worth it for the location.

From all the photos on booking.com I was expecting an old building but with modern facilities. The room was ok apart from the noisy floor boards but that’s expected in an old building. The bathroom was crazy small, I could hardly fit on the toilet. However all that I can over look, it’s not really an issue to me especially factoring in the price and the great location. The HUGE problem is the machines on the toilets. I was in bed at 11pm, the room near by must have had the tap running because the machine was going off every 30 seconds until 12:45am. I was watching a movie so wants too bothered and it stopped when I wanted to sleep so not too bad. I got to sleep quickly after that but got woken up with a jump at 4am because machine from the direct next door went off.. I thought at first it was just them using the toilet at night but it kept on happening. It turn out they were getting dressed and leaving. 100% they were trying to be quiet, but it’s impossible to use the water without setting it off, also you can’t move around with out the floorboards making it sound like they were in my room. I had 30 mins of this before they left. But I was so awake I didn’t get back to sleep until 7am. I’m a good sleeper but I couldn’t deal with that. There’s absolutely no reason why those machines should be that bad. They are plumbed into the sink and shower which is needless, it’s crazy
