About Venue
JW Lees opened the now multi award winning Rain Bar in August 1999. It wasn’t always a bar though. It started life as a Victorian canal side warehouse. It then became an umbrella factory and until its development was a dry cleaning business.
Manchester is famous for many things, cotton, the ship canal, manufacturing, the Guardian newspaper, United, City, Coronation Street and Oasis. Throughout history one thing has remained constant about reports on Manchester, the weather. Hence the name Rain Bar.
Rain Bar’s stylish and contemporary function bar is the perfect venue for private parties and is multi-functional for all types of celebrations. With an outside terrace/balcony the function room can be used for BBQ’s in the summer and all year round for wedding and civil partnership celebrations. We can cater for any type of party and can provide a range of buffet and food packages to suit your needs.

We had a great time at this place. Service wasn't what we are used to but once we got a handle on it, everything went smoothly. Food was excellent and there was a great selection of beers on tap.

Hired the top area for my 50th party - amazing venue.. everything was impressive from the start, with great communication from Alex and Ursula. The team were so accommodating and always prompt with their response and advice.. Food and welcoming drink was great and had so many guests comment about the quality.. I also had a celiac family member and they were so well provider for.. The space itself is so lovely, with the outdoor area a definite favourite.. So many of my guests commented on how great it was.. Lastly, the staff on the day could not have been any nicer or more accommodating.. Would recommend the Rain Bar to anyone wanting to have a special celebration - it’s a brilliant space, excellent value for money and has a great team behind it :)

this pub is clearly popular , lovely rustic looking pub with plenty of space inside and out. brewery run by JW LEE - plenty of draft Ale and lagers and then your mainstream such as Strongbow and Guiness. food being served but cannot comment as drinking only.
