Spend the morning here with lots of other family members and had a wonderful time. There is always lots of things to learn and do. It’s got lots of things to do with light, sound, building, tasting and playing. I would definitely recommend anyone to come visit here. They have a cafe, toilets, lockers and a gift shop. Very polite and very welcoming staff.

Small museum. With a small selection of items from transport and cotton making. On the 2nd floor a selection of hands-on experiments good for kids. I’ve visited the temporary exhibition operation ouch. Again this is aimed at kids, with multi sensory displays explaining the 5 senses. The museum is free to visit, pre booking isn’t essential, there is a small charge for the temporary exhibitions

It's a fun place to bring your kids to. Book tickets online in advance. There's a free section and a paid one. There's an adjoining textile museum showcasing history of how MCR became the hub of textile revolution. Free section of the museum has some science experiment related games and paid one has some more fancy games for the kids. Worth a visit with family over the weekend. There's a shop and cafe/restro near the entrance, shop has some cool stuff for science enthusiasts. It wasn't too crowded when I visited. Could spend 2-3 hours there easy.

Located on Liverpool Road, this museum showcases Manchester's pivotal role in the Industrial Revolution. Housed in the world's oldest surviving passenger railway station, it offers a blend of historic and modern exhibits. Highlights include the Power Hall, featuring working steam engines, and the Textiles Gallery, which delves into the city's cotton industry. Interactive displays cater to all ages, making it a family-friendly destination. While entry is free, some special exhibitions may require a fee. The museum is currently undergoing a £40 million refurbishment, with the Power Hall set to reopen in summer 2025. Visitor reviews commend the museum's engaging content and informative displays, though some note that certain areas are still being updated.

Great half term fun at the science and industry museum, if your children have blue peter badges they can get in to the ouch exhibition for free and obviously the other parts of the museum is free, so it's a really cheap day out just got to pay £9 and adult for the Ouch exhibition. The is parking down the road but can be pricey. Or you can get the train as it isn't far. Great for a rainy day! Children learn so much.
