Booked this place after watching the men's senior open golf championship at sunningdale on way back home to Bristol and I have to say it was very good. Clean rooms nice restaurant and bar area. Definitely recommend

Beautiful place, absolutely stunning. Basic rooms which is perfect as it doesn't take away from the rest of the buildings. Short walk to the castle. All servers are lovely and couldn't be more helpful. Definitely will be back

Really good golf course in good nick. Room was huge & comfortable bed - bathroom in 202 was looking tired in places. Friendly staff & good service. Food very good although breakfast needed to have hotter food.

We were travelling as a family and booked a triple room. First the positives - lovely location, good food and wait staff couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. We were looking for something a little different to the usual cookie cutter hotel, and thought this would be a nice change. The negatives - Reception staff not welcoming. Very offhand. We knew the hotel was an older property and were not expecting 4 or 5 star, but did not expect it to be so run down. Look closely at the exterior and you will see rotten windows, flaking paint and a general lack of maintenance. The beds were hard, no air conditioning in the height of summer (despite being told there was. Turns out the aircon is only in the public areas, not the bedrooms.) The built in furniture is falling apart. The bathroom flooring had red stains on the floor and the carpet is stained and threadbare in places. Our room was on a corner, with a window on each side. One of the windows in our room could open a little, the other was open, but unable to be closed, so was permanently open. The first night of our stay, we thought it had rained and the floor had got wet through the open window. The next night, it happened again, but we realised that the sprinkler system had come on and water was hitting our window, coming into the room. The carpet was very wet. Luckily, we were due to leave the following day. When we advised reception of the problems with the room, they did not seem at all surprised and just said they would look into it. Be warned - the photos on the website look much better than in reality, have not changed and the room is still available to book. Would I stay again? Definitely not.
