I had very low expectation for hotels in the UK but this was alright. Very central location to Newcastle and rooms are fine and clean. Could do with more windows and light but this is just England, you don’t have windows anywhere in design. Food quality was average. Meeting food is very average. You could feel the quantity rather quality. Otherwise all fine, would use this hotel again.

Lovely room and hotel itself was lovely. Comfy bed. Second stay. I was poorly this time so had to pay for a late check out due to this. We were twice walked into by housekeeping. The second time I had just managed to have a shower and was naked when the staff walked in. Was that poorly I didn’t get to have breakfast due to being ill. We had paid for this. Meantimes on the check out and wasn’t offered a refund though they knew I hadn’t eaten. Was told I could have had breakfast til 12.

We didn't have the best experience with our recent stay. We had booked to swap rooms halfway through our stay. The staff were very helpful when we were booking this but when it came to the actual stay there was a very clear lack of communication amongst staff. The day of the room switch we had the cleaners coming in despite the sign on the door saying please do not disturb, then we had the assistant manager at the door demanding we check out. We had confirmed that we could stay in the room until the next one was ready but this was not communicated to the rest of the team. Our pre-confirmed late check out was also no longer available and although staff were eventually able to accommodate this, it did require us to confirm that it was their mistake. I would strongly suggest to the team to consider clearer communication amongst their team particularly when special requests have been agreed upon in advance. The hotel itself is nice and the rooms are good. Unfortunately, us having to constantly monitor the staff to ensure that what they had agreed upon actually happens does result in us leaving not feeling particularly positive about the hotel. 3* given the facilities are nice and there is £12/day parking. Knocking points for poor service and being so close to the trains with poor soundproofing meaning you hear them very very regularly no matter which side of the hotel you are on.

Impossible to get through on the phone to request an upgrade for the room or speak to anyone about adding extras. It was a present for a young couples anniversary which I mentioned and the upgraded room was a disabled one which was unsuitable for them. Tv didn’t work and the staff were very unhelpful and disinterested. Really disappointed after reading the good reviews. The upside was the continental breakfast and the spa. Haven’t been able to speak to anyone to discuss the issues which is also disappointing.
